I am among Messianic Jews, so observe Sabbath, but like day of rest, worship, family together, no work = cleaning, laundry, if possible no cooking, even now be alone and retired, I keep my rest. Thanks for great teaching, explaining, keep day off to GOD.

I know this is an old, but I had to comment. This broke down the sabbath so well and for me personally who doesn't know how to sit down, helped me understand the importance of rest. " Resting because you are trusting." Working hard is good for the soul but resting in God keeps us going! Thank you for this message!

Hi Skip 😁 did you know even today the Hasidic Jews still "keep the "Shabot" they pay the neighbor kids to come in to turn on the switched if needed😮 it happens in New York all the time !

I really enjoy your teaching pastor Skip. However, I feel like you need to revisit your thoughts on the weekly sabbath. You rightfully point out that there are various other sabbaths that were given to the israelites but these were not part of the 10 commandments. As you rightly said, keeping the weekly sabbath is a command. We still wholly subscribe to the rest of the 10 commandments. Is there any reason we should take a different position on the 4th?

Worship God in Truth and in Spirit. Keep the true 7th day of the Sabbath, has been changed to the 1st day and now Sunday will shift to be the 7th day?. Worship Saturday is the true 7th day. No ONE can change that said God

Pastor you omitted the most important verses in Exo 20, that is v.1- And GOD spoke all these words(10 commandments); all creation were created by the "spoken words of GOD & it came into existence". And have written it twice & will write them again in the hearts of man not by Moses but by GOD(YHVH) himself Jer31:31-34. v.2-"I am the LORD your GOD ..... so if GOD(YHVH) is your LORD your GOD you will obey all these 10 commandments. v.8- Remember the sabbath(GOD's rest) by keeping it Holy.... "Remember"- Creation & your Creator. v.10- Bur the 7th day is a sabbath to the Lord your GOD... so if you intentionally ignore the Lord's sabbath, then He (YHVH) is not your Lord & GOD. Have you noticed in Creation, the 7th day is the only day that did not end? All the rest of the day says " there was evening, & there was morning the 1st day & so on... With regards to the sabbathical year of the land, it only applies in the Land of Israel. May the GOD of Israel bless you in knowledge & wisdom. FYI James 3:1 Shalom

I love your preaching and is inspiring. But with this about the Sabbath you are bit confused in distinguishing the 7th day Sabbath in the moral law (the 10 commandments) and the festival sabbaths which is part of the ritual law or ceremonial law. These ritual or ceremonial laws were a shadow of Christ, they ceased on the cross but not the 10 commandments or the moral law including the 7th day Sabbath. So the 7th day Sabbath that starts sunset Friday to sunset Saturday is biblical and unchangeable. Throughout the new testament there's no mention that the 7th day Sabbath was changed to Sunday as many Sunday church goers believe. I do not condemn Christians who who worship or consider Sunday as the Sabbath but we need to follow and practice what the Bible says. We can not keep 9 commandments and leave out one which is the Sabbath. I pray that we abandon our reasoning and let the Holy Spirit lead us in the truth.

I just watched your sermon and you called it the Jewish Sabbath but scripture says it is the Sabbath of The Lord Matthew 12:8 For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” If you teach and you don't want to keep the Sabbath are you not teaching traditions (Sunday) Mark 7:7 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ God says in heaven you will keep the Sabbath Isaiah 66:23 And it shall come to pass That from one New Moon to another, And from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to worship before Me,” says the Lord. It's hard to change especially when you lead a church for years or have been going to church on Sunday. Would a Pastor say he was wrong or it's just how I grew up. When I started going to church I went on Sunday everybody else was doing it. There's not one Commandments in the entire Bible that changed the Sabbath to Sunday Jesus kept the Sabbath as was His custom is not Jesus who we should emulate Luke 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
