Oh boi, oh boi. This was most frustrating session to the date. At one point i was actually so mad that made me wanna quit. Sesh started like every other sesh, nice stretching, warm up and i could not break mental barrier. Was so mad because i did those things before and i wanted to do them again. Wont make me any skater if im not able to do all the basic stuff..

I remember back in the days, my friends and I were battling just doing a Ollie over a manhole cover. Eventually, I learned how to Fakie, Nollie, and Switch it. Memory lane...

One of the best rules for me (now with 52) is and always was, start low and slow then increase speed and height. Some days our brain doesn't help but keep focus and I'm sure you'll can get the tricks you want.

@@jeffersonchocron can relate with that. There is no point to rush, just need to find good rhythm.

Dude, you have to have fun with it, know your limits so you don't get hurt, but push yourself progressively. You can practice olllies on carpet or grass. Watch a lot of you tube tutorials. Back when I started, no You Tube, just trial and error, and maybe being lucky enough to skate with someone at a higher skill level. Also, body conditioning helps alot. I always say if you're already an athlete in another sport, you have a good head start because your body will be used to the physical exertion and have some degree of balance. Balance is a big part of skating so supplemental exercises help a lot. Practice walking along a curb, then try going faster until you can almost run and still stay balanced. After you get good at that, try walking backwards on that curb without looking. This not only helps balance, but also helps body coordination by teaching where to put your foot without looking. You can't always watch your board while skating. Another thing that helps is not only exercise in general, but especially squats. Increased leg strength makes learning tricks easier because you're fighting gravity less when your legs are stronger. So many others things that can help, but the main thing is your motivation. You have to want to skate. If you don't, that's ok. It's not for everyone, but realized even for us experienced skaters, we sometimes get frustrated. Just take breaks when needed. Remember to have fun. Wish you all the best dude. You can do it! 🛹👍😎👍🛹

You literally described one of the main situations that every skater can face. I think that if there is motivation, that can contribute to success anf helps a lot. If there is no motivation, discipline remains. I learned that from experience. When you pass teenage years it is more difficult to find time, strength and will. Personally, time is a big limitation for me. It is difficult to synchronize responsibilities, exercise, skating. If i could go back 25 years, it would be a different story. This is little free time and discipline that i can push trough. The most important thing is to have fun, because if something isn't fun then it doesn't make sense. Thanks for your time and support!

My first sesh went decent. Just trying to get the feel for rolling again. I still hit a couple stationary ollies and got a little height. Love to see you still going even on a bad day. It's inspiring.

There’s many types of skating. Freestyle, vert, current modern day park, street skating, downhill. All can help with snowboarding and surfing. 🤙

My biggest problem is falling. I'm okay if I scrape my knee or get a bruise but I just can't risk breaking a bone. And I have my ollie and shuv it down really well until it comes time to land but I'm just too scared because I don't want to spend a month in a cast. It sucks cause I really enjoy it. People say "you just have to get over the fear" but it's not so much the fear but moreso the realistic chance of breaking a bone. There's ways to fall to avoid bone breaks but I'm not able to do it.
@j0j0kay

I work a very physical job and I broke my wrist. I was in a cast for 12 weeks, had surgery, and then I was in a sling for 8 weeks. It sucked, but I managed to keep working even with one arm! Wear protection, bend your knees when you land, practice falling and rolling out of a fall, and keep your arms bent when you fall!
@Sure2Skate
@Sure2Skate 3 дня назад
@@krypticviper1613 can relate to that. That is a reason i wear wrist and elbow pads. Those two have the most chance to get injured. Also, biggest thing is to get comfortable with board. In next videos, compared to this one you will think im flying. That is how comfortable i got. Do things, small things, get better, wear pads and progress will come!
@lonelypatios
@lonelypatios 3 дня назад
honestly if you start practicing doing rolls and train your body to do those maneuvers then youll be okay. Most of the time youre scared because if you are put in a situation that you cant bail out of your body goes into panic and you dont know what to do. Pay attention and identify how to get out of certain situations but also even practicing how to roll out momentum by doing it in grass and immediately make any fall feel honestly not that bad. Getting comfortable with the concrete is apart of skating and tbh its probably just because you dont know how to fall properly
