Thank you! I love all the K-9 officers. I've heard other K-9 Deputies talk about the dog's protecting the handlers. The one deputy said he was dog bit because he got too close to the handler. It's incredible that they train for that. It was also helpful to learn that the Dutch language is used. You told Wolf (who is just so handsome) to sit. I heard another K-9 handler use the same words to his partner. I just thought it was their thing. Nice to know there is more to it. So the question I would ask is, "Did you already speak the Dutch language, or is that something you learned being paired with your handsome partner? Kudos to you and your partner!
I recall when OCSD was evaluating breeds for their newly-established K9 program. I was glad they settled on the Malinois, they truly are (in my opinion) the best for the job. Stay safe Deputy and Wolf.
"Playfulness" is one of the top criteria for selecting a dog for training. If a dog "lives" for playing, that's the one best for the work in law enforcement.
I feel female cops are a better match for a k9 compared to a male cause if you have a big guy who gets agresive that can hurt you your k9 can help a lot not just females but smaller people in general inst ad of big boi people and yeah that was kinda sexist but true
