Maine Coon kitten Ada is 4.5 months old and ready to learn how to walk with a leash. This video shows the process of how I trained her to accept and get used to the harness and leash.
But she still has lots of training to do in order to fully master the leash walking!

Luna was so worried about Ada's wellbeing. And Mama Freya trying to bite the leash, she really didn't trust your method. But little Ada was full of confidence when she came back home. Uncle Buster realised where Ada had been, and now these two share the Secret of the Forest. Hope some day they'll explore it together ❤

Baby ada,, was shy and amazed at the same time,, but, she knew when she had enough, of the scary big, bad forest, so she tucked herself back into her princess cat mobile. 😂

Buster says "you've been to my forest, i can smell it" she was so brave, very big step for her but she's a strong little girl. I saw the video of Buster with her in the forest not long ago x what great progress she has ade,well done Ada, lots of treats time.

This is a really funny video! I hope Princess Ada gets used to the leash & can enjoy walks with Uncle Buster. It seems like Ada is saying "what the Heck is going on with this thing?" And really funny when Mama Freya was biting on the leash... "take this thing off my baby girl!" Thank you for another wonderful video ❤

Luna and Freya are both so very loving and concerned towards their little Ada, the Princess with the fluffy golden tail..i do think little Ada was really scared but also a trooper to go out into the woods.. so glad her dad was there to reassure her..and wonderful Uncle Buster assuring Ada she was ok and checking in to talk about her experience in the woods when she returned.. with Luna checking in with her..Dexter does not seem particularly close/loving towards Ada as Luna, Freya, and Uncle Buster🥰🥰🥰 pls Dad good care of our little Princess..thanks for sharing.

Buster kept trying to get a good whiff of the leaves and dirt. He loves the outdoors! Ada will learn soon and get to sit on Uncle Buster's special rock. Can't wait to see the new adventures!

Fascinating episode. So sweet to see Grandma so concerned, and Freya biting the leash to say "hands off my daughter!" Buster was very interested to find out where on Earth she'd been when she got back from her adventure. Hopefully she'll come to really enjoy it.

I did the same thing with Osku, put the harness on and opened the balcony door as a misdirection:) When he got back in, he did the same as Ada, trying to fight it by flopping on the floor. And he also tried to bite the leash. Ada is still small, but learned quickly that harness isn’t a punishment, mama Freya seemed to think it was. Ada was still a little scared of the forest, but soon she will be Uncle Busters adventure buddy!

Great video👌👍!! I was wondering if You were going to train Ada to have outdoor adventures like her Uncle! It's cute seeing the whole family rallying around her when you were training her with the leash/harness, like parents with a kid learning to ride a bike 😸😻. Honestly the progress she's made is pretty impressive, It took my cat MUCH longer to acclimate to leash and outdoor walks, but she got there in the end. 8:36 Buster: "Have to make sure your butt is clean before you come back in little one...now tell me how it went!" LOL 😹😹😹❤

😊 the first time I tried a harness on one of my cats, who was older than Ada, he flopped on his side and refused to move at all! Ada did much better!

Ada did a good job of not being too scared of the forest. I'm sure in the next couple of ventures she'll be skipping around like she owns it. I know Buster's presence would be a good incentive to get her investigating the big, scary forest. You did a good example of displaying leash training also. Thanks.

I have a velcro harness with a buckle for my MC, but it looks like what you have is less confining and more escape proof. Is what you have a better option? And what’s the best length for the retractable leash?

I think mine is 5 meters. I like the simple harness I'm using. It feels very safe. As long as it is correctly tightened, it should be very escape proof.
