Aaaaaa~ Thank you so much for playinggg~ I'm so glad you enjoyed it! There's very little I could add to what Junky commented here earlier. The cards are cameo appearances of characters from Shrines & Youkai, which, aside from being a Touhou-inspired roleplay group, hosts annual content creation events, which LCM was also made for (along with the likes of Augusta Iaponicorum or Sudden Onset of Masculinity). Some of them follow the Touhou formula and could be regarded as true fan characters while others have been isekai'd to the world of Gensokyo from elsewhere. Most of the unusual-sounding names fall into the latter group. As for the game itself, although it was designed with the cards in mind, I knew that not everyone was a fan of the system in UM, so finding a sweetspot between making the cards necessary and making the game enjoyable even without them was tough for me. What ended up happening is that Lunatic mode especially is very demanding without cards, but can become a fun challenge with them even for players that are accustomed to lower difficulties (like me!). So if I had to say, Easy, Normal, and perhaps even Hard were definitely not balanced for the cards at all. It was a summer's worth of effort and some of the balancing definitely suffered from both the time constraints and my focus on Lunatic difficulty. I've contemplated making an update that addresses at least some of both the balancing and the technical issues while sprinkling some extra content on top for repeat players, but I can't promise I or even the other people who worked on the game with me find the time for that. That said, 25 card Berserker Soul isn't exclusive to spell practice! But that's certainly a challenge for someone of...greedier nature. That is all. From the bottom of my heart of the cards, thank you for dedicating time to playing LCM and showing everything off. I hope I can continue to make games and stories for you and everyone else to enjoy.

Ok watched who the whole video and I also really agree that the effort put into this game, as well as the balancing, feels like it's more fit for a full game. Though it *is* super fun to utterly break this game (even the dev said it's the intended way of playing), it can get really wild for people who just play this casually or once. So wth how varied each ability card is, on top of the spell creativity, graphical and musical presentation, I would love to see a full game using everything this game's system has to offer, giving this whole thing a bit more space to express itself. ...Buuuut, considering how long and time/money expensive fangames can be. Most of us in the community are primarily coders. Some people can do art, and a very select few can do music, let alone all 3. Which usually means these types of things end up requiring more than just what you/a group of friends can do. The card art was done by two people and already making 25-ish was time consuming. I should know! I did like 2/3rds of them! For a little context: this script was made for a server's yearly tradition of making a script for your characters. This, like AI, was a passion project and I'm amazed Python could fit ALL OF THIS into just *one* full stage. Stuff like this in one-fight scripts is so rare so I love seeing people play this script. Sorry for the micro-essay lmao. But I love it when you can tell a danmakufu creator goes all out on everything *beyond* just the main fight. I have a lot to say about this script.

Btw the characters in the cards more than fancharacters are actually OCs from a roleplay discord server themed after Gensokyo

I was already interested when I saw Chimata playable, but a final spellcard that uses your own cards against you AND has a unique phase for each card? That's downright impressive, it feels like final boss material even with just 25 cards.

This script is another one of the all time greats, though I must admit I was a bit biased from the start. Shrines and Youkai is a second home at this point Also it's official I'm rounding you two up with Trickysticks for a Commander game

Wow, this was an amazing script Fun patterns, beautiful graphics, cool ideas for the cards, and then making bullet patterns for ALL the cards in the script? This script is just amazing in general

This script is actual peak. Top notch presentation, gameplay, system, music, you name it. Literally the only complaint I have is that my PC feels like it's on life support trying to run this (especially full-deck Berserker Soul, I don't think my PC can even load it LOL), and that's hardly exclusive to this script at all anyway. Lord knows even RSS, a 10-year-old game, runs like garbage for me. Some of this script's appeal is definitely the scoring potential. Chimata's bomb helps with the vision-limiting card since it's graze-based, and then uhhh, idk you do a lot of things with other cards. I know the score can go up to the quadrillions and I think even quintillions. Shoutouts to Hikawa's card art. It's a redraw of this scene from Sonic Mania Adventures where Knuckles is clinging onto the Master Emerald in the same way. The card itself is even called Master Emerald. (This will make more sense once we get to a certain fangame, since unlike damn near everyone else in this script that has a card, Hikawa actually originated from said fangame first...) And yes, that's also the same card that triples the bomb items, making bombs even easier to get. also no way that megumu shot name (it's one of her UM spells i know but it's just funnier retroactively now wow no wonder she was my favorite from that game, she's even technically a bird)

And that boss's background was a curtain of question marks hiding...a view of leafy wilderness...just like this boss's Spell Card Background... And that boss was called...Chamelan...WAIT A MINUTE... Is this boss an *INTENTIONAL REFERENCE* to a boss from the _Nights_ Remake?

It's kind of weird how there's no ending dialogue, given that Augusta Iapnocorum had some. It makes the script feel a little anticlimactic, and is part of why I prefer AI (Augusta, not Artifical Intelligence lol) despite this script being a little more polished... Also, Mr. ManOmega, I'm a fan of those little character portraits you have in your videos, particularly the Touhou ones like Koishi. Do you have a collection of all the ones you've made somewhere that I can view them?

Love it! Out of curiosity are you two big fans of the music too, or are you mostlu just there for the danmaku?

Good script, although I've personally prefered Augusta Iaponicorum more. Both the character portraits and overall screen clutter felt less contrasting with Touhou-style, but I can see why some people might prefer this.
