You run Myrtle because of the insane DP generation. I run Myrtle with Perfumer and Angelina because I think its hilarious watching vanguards healing for over 80 hp per second globally (~150/s with fine blending) We are not the same.
I like how half the community sees the Doctor as the one forcing Myrtle to work, while the other half sees Myrtle as the one forcing us to always work for her. It's like a toxic relationship, where both parties sees themselves as the victim and suffers.

Ngl, I kinda went away from myrtle after I got Max pot cantabile with s2m2. With bagpipe, she can instantly activate her skill, and get 17 dp in seconds while also being camouflaged.

I still remember years ago, the time bagpipes was first released, i cant hold it, i cant take it, my myrtle wants her. Not 1 not 2 bagpipes, but 3 bagpipes for herself. Took me a great amount of suffering to get all those orundum and buying the vanguard potential in the shop. Now i quit . . 3 years sober of myrtle addiction and still recovering
Honestly, aside from a few stages or situations where there's certain gimmicks, bringing Myrtle is overkill for DP generation. You can generally get by fine with a vanguard who brings more to the table than raw DP, and not even come close to having issues with getting your ops out in time.
I have a maxed out myrtle, and a maxed out bagpipe too. Both are pot 6, m6, moduled up, and I literally can never run away from them. I want to run the new units. I need to use myrtlepipe.

Tbh? Siege + Cantabile. Siege with the AoE DP-generating hit (because I like it and it's dual purpose) and Cantabile with the After-Deployment skill (both for early DP-generating and later for Fast Redeploy-like strikes). And in the beginnings I used Fang and Courier and I was happy 🤷♂
If Arknights was a western game, they would have nerfed myrtle and the other flag bearers into oblivion. Thats the thing with gatchas, you can’t balance the game otherwise someone will be pissed that their favourite operator got weaker. The only thing you can do it make the game harder for those ops which ends up making it frustrating to play it if you don’t have them.
@@defaulted9485 To be fair even in regards to the powercreep, pretty much every op still has their niche uses and it's mostly a case of a lot of the "general use" ones having their uses narrowed down as new ops came out. And most bosses and stages that have hard aspects have their own unique gimmicks to play around. It's just people are lazy and don't want to invest resources or time into working around those gimmicks and figuring things out, so they try to brute force everything with raw damage and try to just use the same ten or so ops for every situation.
It's also a legal issue for JP-based gachas, iirc. The characters rolled for count as a product purchased and nerfing them post-sale violates some consumer law.
While it was a decision first made by Early Launch freebies+plenty options, now I proudly keep my Myrtle unraised. E0, Lv1, Skill lv1 I need heavy DP gen, I got Ely. I need damage down stat, I have Canta. I need longer term staying power, I have Flametail. By removing "*the* option", I learned to use "the *options*" that are out there. You never needed her. You coaxed yourself into believing you do

@@3takoyakis Well I do have other strong Vanguards like Bagpipe, Ines and Muelsyse but I specifically want to use Flametail. I am a sucker for "Waifu over Meta" which is why I use Schwarz over Pozy for example. I simply love the story about Pinus Sylvestris so Flametail is a must have for me. Edit: And well I am an RNG-Addict.
Best way to avoid Myrtle is never using her in the first place. Unless you're a CC madlad, that unit is just brainrot waiting to happen... it probably helped that I despise her on a personnal level too.
What's even funnier about Myrtle being the most well known and most broken unit in the game is that she will never get a 6 star alter solely because she does not have any lore to begin with. HG will never capitalize on her popularity because of that blunder. Like even Ch'en or Eyja had lore that somewhat linked them to their alter, or Swire having an alter cause she was technically also a businesswoman. Myrtle does not have any lore, in fact she is only a side character in her own bio cause Durin went on a vacation back to her place, picked up Myrtle, and now Myrtle is vibing in RI. In fact there is probably more words describing Myrtle through her two themes than anything within the actual game itself. THIS FUCKER HAS 2 THEMES WITHOUT EVEN BEING IN ANY SIDE STORY WHATSOEVER. Edit: after rereading her bio, this mf has more lore mystery on her god damn apple than she herself. This is the League of Legends equivalent of of a literal keg of beer having more god damn lore than several champions combined. Ah, I also forgot, this mf has TWO SKINS. Franka was literally in the main story, and even in the RI event and it still took her 4 fucking years to get a skin. What's next? Miss Ra-tat-ta gets her themes promoted in Ambience Synethesia with A BRAND NEW SKIN???? Edit edit: I also just realized, if you discount group music, Myrtle is literally the only 4 star in the entire game that has her own dedicated theme.
I run Flametail (Skill 3) and Meulsyse (Skill 2) instead of bringing a flag vanguard whenever possible. It's... _very_ funny to drop a water mimic of Mudrock and just not have to worry about that lane ever breaking, beacuse it'll get over 1000 attack and something like 800 def due to melee mimics' passive. It still has most of her literal thousands of health, the 3 block, and healing from both Mumu's skill _as well as_ the Perfumer that everyone will be running until the end of time. When I DO need a flag vanguard, though? (Hello sheep event EX7 + EX8 💀) I bring Elysium, with Flametail S3 again. I did just get Saileach a day ago, though, so maybe I'll switch that up. I will not give in to the Myrtle Madness.
Lucky you. Since 1 year and 2 months of playing I still don't have Elysium/Saileach. Year ago I got both Myrtle and Cantabile and they are always in my squad to this day.
She doesn't lol. Saileach has same dp gen that elysium does though, while elysium has better S2, so much so that he doesn't even need S3 unlike saileach who has two shitty skills of her own that noone cares about other than to flex that they have a 6* reskin of what's essentially myrtle.
