Honestly. This is one of those situations where no one wins. If we get all the characters then people will complain saying we don't need them If we cut characters, people will complain saying this isn't Tenkaichi 4
To be fair, they said that this game is a faithful sequel to bt3, and non of the BT games cut out characters when going to the next game. So if they stay true to the formula from the last 3 games they wouldn't cut any but I think they will.

Wow your argument about people preferring GT Goku over Garlic Jr. is just coward. You know perfectly well that if people got the choice between GT Goku and Janemba or Cooler they would 100% take the movie characters. People are asking for Super version movies of those characters for years and everyone shat on Daima bc nobody wants GT 2.0 You GT fans need to get out of your bubble, Jesus... Whatever comes out as dlc, comes out as dlc stop complaining. Also if you look at pretty much everything modern Dragon Ball game there's 3 types of dlc characters. New characters from the show running at the time (which always get priority), movie characters and GT characters. GT characters are almost never in base game. Xenoverse had GT dlc, XV2 only came with gt stuff bc they couldn't sell dlc twice. FighterZ had no GT on launch. You still got a bunch of dlc with Super characters and movie characters like Janemba and Cooler and ONLY then after a bunch of characters, you started getting GT Goku and Gogeta ssj4. If we face reality, the priority in DB games right now is exactly: Z>Super>Movies>GT>OGDB. It's just a fact.
Any form of goku is more popular than other characters because he is the main character. Casuals would prefer goku before any other character, hence all the variations of him.
@Gfromda23 nah they cutting some cause the revealed slots are near the same number of BT3. We know goku and vegetas previous forms are returning along with their super forms, so that means some of the slots will not be the same characters from the previous games. I think they might get rid of fodder characters like Friezas army men or the pilaf gang.
In with u. I hope 164 isnt the final number and thera a bit more slots. Mayne something like around 190 characters would probably be perfect to include the characters from DB, Z, GT, and Super. Then I'll be fine with either DLC and them adding newer characters as the anime develops or even just wait for the next sparking game sfter sparking zero
I honestly don’t think it’s gonna be a sequel to this game. I think this is the ultimate dragon ball game imo so that’s why they doing they best to make it perfect and with dlc. If they tired to make another game we not seeing that for a long ass time
@Gfromda23 as long as they keep updating it and adding some characters as the anime develops then I'll be fine with this being the ultimate dragon ball game for longer than Tenkaichi 3 lasted lol
@@Gfromda23 ive made my own custom roster with a few characters from BT3 cut like great Apes we never saw and Freiza soldiers and Appule and things like that and adding super characters and got around 190-200 or so slots and i felt that its perfect
If there are only 164 characters then yes I feel most movie, gt and og will be gone. We will have the main characters from a and super. We will have super versions of our universe competitors, trio of danger, three main pride troopers, most of universe 6, Abreane and possibly her 2 partners. Maybe a few others depending on who needs a few more fights. We will also need beerus, whis, future trunks characters, and broly and even superhero characters. Those are going to take a majority of roster. I tend to do what if material with at least one new form. I see them releasing story packs of og, movie, and gt which will bring back characters but also bring in New playable characters. I do hope frieza solider and other minions are in the game but are not playable. This way we can bring some of the tournament of power characters but keep them off the actual roster.
I really think this game will eventually have all characters from each series, even characters we never seen. It’s gonna get supported for a long long time I just wanna see who makes base roster and who’s dlc

I think to preserve the base game spots, Z movies and GT need to be dlc only. We do not have enough space for them right now and I’d rather ALL of them be dlc than only a few be in base game, taking spots of fun canon people Also babidi is 1000% important enough to get in
Man I’m really excited for this game. Bandi are taking them time with this one and the bit of gameplay we seen LOOKS REALLY GOOD. Seeing that we have heavy attacks, prob can hold it to push them back, ki attacks of course, reg attacks, hopefully we do have a bit of a combo list for each characters and they differ giving each character diversity like how each tekken 8 character have their own combos. The destruction looks amazing, the visuals are great, the fact that you can do giant battles will be freaking epic, and knowing this is the continuation from the best dragon ball series, I’m looking forward to it. Okay the roster is gonna be SICK!! Hopefully we have GT and I hope Ultra Ego Vegeta just because we’re getting UI Goku, I know he’s only in manga but come on. Let us have him, and hopefully DLC will be a bit of maybe what if characters.. like a super saiyan 3 Vegeta, fusion of adult trunks and adult gotens, stuff like that maybe. Also, excited for each character to have their fighting style just like the anime
I wish I could say this isn’t true but it is but I wish they would at least add Moro and vegeta ulta who and gas especially since we have tons of moves from them now black Frieza understandable because we don’t know any of his moves and granolah idrc about
@@dragonballgaming6385 Granolah reminds me of that spongebob episode Anchor Arms, lol. I think Toriyama thought that finger gun move is cool and made a whole character from it. Gohan's finishing special beam cannon in Superhero used Granolah's pose
I hope you’re right about the part about the roster not actually being 164 characters as the final base roster, and that they go further along (or, maybe I should say, even further beyond) with the “break through the limits/break the heavens” theme and have the base roster portrait screen at the end of the previous trailer get shattered or shrunk to reveal even more slots (although I’m not entirely counting on it, but it would be a VERY nice surprise)!
Everyone and their Mother want to see Ultra Ego Vegeta in Sparking Zero at Launch. 😂 Hes not gonna be in the Game. At least not until hes beeing officially animated in DBS. And maybe not even then. People wont accept this Fact lol. 😂
@@makaisaiyan Maybe. He could be a unique giant character that could have speedy slash attacks that do plenty of damage. I just like playing with unique characters rather than just the only the popular ones to test their combos and movesets.

I think they should add Grand Supreme Kai, I feel like characters like him would work with preparing for Future Arcs without having to get into them directly
There is a guy on youtube that posts a Nam video every day until he is released in this game. Every character is someone's favorite character. Just because you think a character should be on the roster more than another, just remember your opinion is subjective. 164 may seem like a large roster, but with all the characters and forms they will add in this compared to Tenkaichi 3, it's just impossible. I don't want them to cram 4 GT characters just to say they are on the base roster. If you're gonna give us GT, then give us ALL of GT. Put Z and Super characters that appear in the main series on the base roster and sell all movie, GT , OG DB and Specials as dlc PACKS. And i will say it again, PACKS! Don't just sell characters like a fighting game. give us the full package. Sell a tree of might pack with turles, the crusher corps and add story missions, stages and battle themes. They can be so smart with the dlc in this game if they just put some effort. I already made mockup base roster + dlc packs, and even what that dlc will be priced.
It's a business . If a character is a favorite, they will be in this game if it makea sense. Sparking zero first job which is objective is to sell well.

I think the Gt characters will definitely appear but nah we need fodder characters I need to fight a single Frieza soldier as Ssj 4 Gogeta or Vegeta I need to kill Yamcha with a Saibaman

I might be the only one but id rather take the movie and special characters over some dbs characters. I wanna play with cooler, dbz broly or janemba again.

@Gfromda23 none. Bandai not gonna cut a whole series then resell it as dlc. If the game got a big budget, its weirs to assume they will cut a whole series out. However, removing characters that either don't make sense in the current market is a more realistic approach.
look at jump force, it added bleach characters with their manga look but they already were known characters. they didnt add yhwach and added aizen instead. i think in bleach case brave souls added manga characters before its anime dropped.
Manga characters do have toys mui form the manga has one and there's ultra ego one too dragon ball af is not even a thing but ssj5 goku has figure even dragon ball heros are getting figures i don't know were heck you been buddy
