This is my full, unbiased review of The Leather Chop Cup by TCC. Trailer performance included at the end of the review. Available Here: www.tccpresent... www.vanishingi...
i was unsurr about geting the OG leather chop cup from Manuel Rodiguez (most master in spain use theirs such as Gabi Pareras, Ricardo Rodriguez, Pipo Villanueva) or this and the quality of the cup is quite similar but i prefer the tcc balls a lot more. Great chop and more realistic than the tipical metal ones, since original leather dice cups are made of leather
Thanks for the comment! Yes I love this cup. The strength of the gimmick is perfect (I know everyone has different opinions on strength) for me. The overall look and quality is fantastic as well.
as a tip, don't use a black cup if u use a black mat, clarity and contrast matters to make a clear landscape for the especator, and i would always recomend a black matt cuz is a perfect flat color that contrast with every deck, coin or prop
@adriagil5041 yeah that makes sense for sure. I have both colours of chop cup. I usually used the dark navy (almost black) on a red velvet mat, and the more traditional leather on my black mat
I do have a question about the chop cup video you mention... there is one? I read reviews with people complaining that TCC had no instructions. I think it was on Penguin Magic. The person felt deceived that after that amazing demo in their trainer for the cup, there was no video. Bought my TCC cup already. It arrives Thursday.
@Russ Peak there is a tutorial, but it's not the routine from the trailer. That was part of a kickstarter bundle. However, it's simple to do if you get the hang of using the "back side" of the gimmick. I picked up the majority of it from watching the trailer and then just played around with the handling. When I say the back side of the gimmick, i'm trying not to expose anything. But with this cup, the "chop gimmick" works traditionally, on the inside of the cup, but also on the outside.. which allows you to do things not possible with most other chop cups. Also, some of the final loads shown in the trailer are too large for the diameter of the cup, and that was sleight of hand.
Got mine in the mail yesterday! Yes! I can see the advantages with a leather cup, especially with final loads. Also, with the gimmick working on back... Are you aware of any sources out there on how people use this? I'm sure there is substantially more potential than I am already seeing. Can't wait to get started.
Awesome man! It's a fun piece and a really nice prop overall. I'm not aware of any sources in specific. The more I kind of played around with it the more came to mind while using the features you mentioned.
