Had mine for about 6 months now. I use it everyday, would hate to leave the house without it. I do maintenance work so it saves a lot of back and forth having a screwdriver and wire cutters on me at all times
exactly! there are lots of small jobs where you just need to tighten something, pop a cover off, or snip some lose wires. these tools are great for that!
Seems like a good whistle to me. That whistle might be the most important tool on there. Most people don’t know their voice won’t last long if they would scream for help while lost or just unable to move. A whistle means you can call attention to yourself for hours rather than minutes.
I never leave the house without my signal, but kits and bit extension. I use them almost every day. Granted, I may not use the fero rod and whistle, but I love knowing that they’re there, if I ever need them.
Looks like a great multi-tool but I don't like the pocket clip being where it is. I'm use to my Skeletool CX with the clip on the side that easily goes into the pocket next to the seam of the pants (I hope that makes sense).
That thing is delicious! I want it every time i see it, but i have a great modified Wave that fills my every needs so i sadly never buy it. I don't think it lacks anything. The minimalism is a goal itself. Many people indeed carry bigger knife too in the woods, so yet another blade here would be waist. I wish the whistle could attract game animals in a survival situation for food. Good review too.
Or if you're lost & you use the whistle to alert rescuers, chances are a search dog would hear it first. Which puts it as a good device to have in earthquake prone urban areas.
Wise words, thank you. Unfortunately the fact that the pliers are not spring loaded are a deal breaker for me and the signal I purchased never gets used. I went back to my battered old wingman.
Excellent multi-tool. Comparison the large Gerber fixed blade knife is not valid. Obviously, this tool cannot cut, stab, chop/hack, pry, etc. like a large fixed blade. However, its smaller knife is better for fine work, and the multiple other tools/functions are not found on a large fixed blade knife. These multi-tools are an excellent complement or supplement to the big knife, and are handier and much better suited for everyday carry. The Signal may become my new favorite, but I will miss the scissors on my other tool. You cannot have it all:(
I'm glad you enjoyed this review! This is a cool multi tool one of my favorites. Unfortunately I do not have any plans to do anymore videos with this particular one, I'm doing the Rebar, Crunch, and Rev tools next, then I need to get busy on some DIY projects so this channel doesn't turn into a Leatherman only show.
Ok information video on the Signal, but the Signal like all other Leatherman multi tool is over priced. Leatherman tool count is always exaggerated also. eg 1) can opener /bottle opener is one tool capable of doing more then one task , 2) long nose pliers with wire cutting capabilites is still one tool, not 5 tools as claimed by leatherman.
I am not a fan of these comboknife's. Had a couple tools with this, i just dont like combo. I do like the option tho, if not. I prefer 'regular' blade vs serrated. Had 2 tools with a blade with the solution seen here. Every time, it became a reason to use something else if they cant throw in 2 blades. But, some like it or i guess. Most do not care. I do xD I dont understand why leatherman dont give people a option to customize their tools on their site. Im aware they have "customizations" but not where it matters, just bling. I would like to be able to mix tools. I know it is some work to make a good solution, but i see no reasons to why they dont have it. Think costumers using their site would like it. At least i would, would even consider ordering from usa if their site had that option. But hey, maybe im wrong.
