Leatherman Skeletool Mod: Adding Tweezers & Scissors

A good option for UK use would be to make the blade non-locking (else it's not legal to carry in public without good cause); I've found a drop of solder on the blade shoulder stops the lock engaging, but it's a kludge. I know locking blades are safer for the user, but the UK knife laws are quite strict (not that it seems to make much difference to knife crime: such laws generally affect just the already law-abiding folk). However, my way of adding scissors and tweezers to my EDC is to slip a Style PS in my pocket - pity Leatherman has discontinued that model as it was one of their few TSA-friendly tools. The Style PS also gives me a smaller pair of pliers for more delicate work (or a when I need a second set for grip). I've recently added a third tool to my MDC (most days carry - i.e. it's left in my car if I don't have a backpack or in more formal clothes): the Raptor (mine is the Rescue, though it would have been the Response if I hadn't found someone selling the Rescue for less). A good pair of sturdy scissors/shears is often more useful than a knife blade (or wire cutters). For many years I've has a Charge Ti on my belt - that has almost everything I would need in an EDC, but the locking blades mean there are UK restrictions. I'm also finding that splitting tools can be more usable than having everything in one.

Oh yeah, for medium to light duty, SAK is the best design. Think it has to do with thei reverse bent blade design. Ive also seen the SAK mod for the skeletool online...where it's swapped for the blade. If i buy another skeletool, ill probably do this to have a TSAfriendly modified version for travelling

I just checked some small SAK scissors and if you use the extra but storage space you can disassemble the skeletool, cut the liner edge by the post screw and fit small SAK scissors instead of the extra bit storage. Might be an option for me because the extra bit would fall out (I bent the frame in to fix it later). This option would be a cleaner set up and if you carry a philips/slotted flat bit you lose nothing.

@@watchncarry9593 Leatherman Style PS already exists. But maybe your point is to have a more substantial tool with bigger scissors by hacking up two already good tools?

@@watchncarry9593 I only say this because if you crank down on skeletool pliers they still break, so there is very little merit in hacking up two good multi tools to get a slightly better set of pliers and better scissors IMHO. But to each their own

@@analogmatrix1442 i dont understand this last comment of yours. Are u saying wasting another multitool by stealing the scissors from them, while also ruining the plier performance on my Skeletool?! The Wave scissors in this video was bought separately on eBay (as in i bought thr scissors only, not the entire Wave multitool). And adding those scissors to my Skeletool doesnt affect the pliers in any way.
