Give it a rest man, Chelsea do not miss Mason Mount one tiny little bit, he’s been a complete flop for Man Utd, Mount wanted close to 300k which he doesn’t deserve and if it’s true Gallagher turned down a 150k contract he should get himself out of here we won’t miss Gallagher at all
Difference was the length of the contract that is why he turned down a 150K it wasn't the money but the length of the contract because Gallagher wants the long contracts the players are getting bc he is playing for his boy hood club so he wants to actually longer than what the owners were offering
Chelsea has done as much for Gallagher as he has done for Chelsea. They took care of him before he became a professional, he is their investment. He is aware Chelsea has been trying to move him on, so why has he been pushing it 1. Everton 45m 18 months 2. Aston villa 57m last month 3. Atletico 34m now These Academy boys are asking for too much 1. Christensen rejected our contact and join Barca for free 2. Mount rejected our contract and join Manchester United If he rejects a contact offer than he leaves. Atletico is a UCL club and suits him. What is his plan really?
This is one time I disagree. I actually think both parties are within their rights. Gallagher didn’t want to take a shorter contract, that’s fairs. If he doesn’t want to take a sale, and instead wants to wait it out and control his destiny, well good on him. At the same time, Blueco has tried to sell Gallagher for 2 years. So this isn’t new to him. They offered him a contract that they felt was fair considering he isn’t a first team starter in their eyes. They have found him a good move, at least imo, to Atleti. That’s fair on them too. If they don’t want to put resources into a player that will wait his contract out, that’s their prerogative. Too many people ear letting emotion rule them. Logically both sides can do what they think is best.
True though at the same time Gallagher have shown that he performed very well last season. So the narrative about he doesn't deserve to be on first team is an utter crap because he has shown the quality for all eyes to see. Plus he's from Chelsea academy which paint a bad color to the club treatment towards their own academy player. At this point any Chelsea academy player would rather play for other club because they're not valued to stay in chelsea.
So basically, you're going based on feelings then. You don't care as long as you like the player. This happened to Malouda and Anelka in the past under Roman and with Lukaku/Ziyech/ Sarr last year. Not a change in club policy.
@ChelseaExplained We don't make enough money on match days (small stadium), we don't have champions league money and the directors have made mistakes in the transfer market. So we need the Gallagher and Chalobah money. Besides the club are not the only ones playing games; Gallagher is also trying to snake the club, by running down his contract so he can join another big club and earn big sign on fees. That's why he's not signed any of the 3 contracts he's been presented, since as far back as 2022. There are no saints here.
Gallagher turned down several contact offers. He may leave if he wants but he shouldn't expect that the club will allow him to leave for free. He's been earning wages and the club must get a return on investment
@@AlphaFootball23if gallagher doesn't want to go, the club can't do anything about it. They can try to force him but if he refuses, they got no power to sell him.
I understand Gallagher wanting to wait it out and run down his contract, but the idea that the club has to just accept it is absurd. Why on earth would they let him go for free? They’ve always been clear that they will not allow players to go into the last year of their contract.
Players can refuse to be sold. Not how contracts works. They(chelsea) can literally not play him and if the players you have now in the midfield start playing poorly, you all are going to turn on the owners for not letting him(gallagher) play. Players absolutle have the right to run their contracts down.
@@ikennanw I don’t disagree, but the club can also retaliate by forcing him out. It won’t be the first time it’s happened. It’s happened at Chelsea multiple times before. And our midfield will be absolutely fine without Gallagher. He is a good player but that’s it.
Same people crying over bang average gallagher are the same that cried and wanted mount to stay on 300k a week...all the whilst moaning about lack of evolution. 😂😂
Gallagher is the only chelsea player that starts for england . Guehi was sold and he starts for England. Chalobah is chelsea most experienced defender he should stay even if he's not the best. Mount was sold and he does not even start for united.
If you send your kid to Chelsea academy and other teams want to buy them thats good, they did they're job.. Be glad to be employed especially when its top teams that want them.
He's still average. He was jus one of the best of a bad and poor Bunch last season. He fits poch running up and down style of footbal. Press press and give it to palmer
Can’t stand why people have the opinion there’s a difference with academy players. If they don’t fit the team goodbye this isn’t a need for an emotional response. The clubs offered Conor 3/4 different teams. If he doesn’t want to sign or leave sit in the reserves.
Where is this exile news coming from???...end of the day when it's all said and done if he doesn't want to sign the new contract and doesn't want to leave yet he is proper chels then for the sake of the club financially he has to be a sacrificial lamb.
New ownership & organization. They didn't pick any of the players from the academy. They have no loyalty to them. Besides that lavia and DBH are a better fit for the new system
Under poch system...enzo system he does not fit..even at euros he failed to impress....just because hes a proper chelsea it does not gurantee him to stay..even though we all that his technical ability is not that much great...
a) Amortization means ~40M for pure-profit Gallagher allows for several hundred million in purchases b) With better organized team pressing Gallagher's superior engine becomes less unique, allowing his technical deficits, surpassed even by young Ugo, to become salient. Just KDH alone puts him firmly on the bench
I think the real issue is that the sporting directors think they can get higher potential players on a lower salary in the short term. Arguably, they’ve already done that by purchasing Paez. I don’t think it’s because they think he’s crap. Just replaceable. They did the same with Mount and Havertz with the Palmer and Jackson purchases.
the Gallagher treatment is bad but I get it to an extent hes not got a place in the team and he isn't gonna accept being a squad player, we don't want him to leave on a free so we have to be ruthless to get him to go to Athleti.
Exactly…this is a last ditch effort to get money from his sale bc he is an asset…they said this from the beginning they will not allow another AC or Rudiger situation happen ever again
@@c_nyak24hebalso has the right to honor his contract and the club also has the right to not play him and force him out but I think that potential players wouldn't find this appealing especially for a team that is depreciating every year.
@@ikennanw ask Real Madrid what they think of that after exiling Hazard out of the club? Or Barca trying to get rid of De Jong for 3 yrs now? How bout what we did to Malouda after winning our first UCL banishing him to U21s under Roman?🤷🏾♂️🤣…this is what big clubs do…it only looks bad when u don’t win which we haven’t yet..but look at our squad and talent and it’s not hard to see we will be good and real soon too🤷🏾♂️
I need the club to just start winning again so people can stop acting like they care about all these topics such as Gallagher. Brings so much divide in the fanbase why one of the reason I was happy for Mount to go.
Losing Cech & Courtois was not good. Losing Ake & Guehi was not good. Losing Kante & DeBruyne was not good. Losing Salah & Hazard was not good. Gallagher & Chalobah could learn much from Palmer & Sterling.
I said it that Maresca is a “yes man”, and it’s only a matter of time before he falls out with these sporting directors. He has been saying Poch should have followed the direction of the directors. Let’s see how much bs he can take.
Bro how is he are yes man they got him the players he wanted we offered Connor 3 contracts bro and he doesn't fit maresca system I'm sure if he wants him he woulda told the club to try keep him
@@AlphaFootball23 Maresca has ZERO say in the future of Gallagher. There is no way someone who was arguably our second best player last season cannot fit into Maresca’s system. Maresca is just another coach. I keep hearing Maresca’s system Maresca’s system. His system is nothing we haven’t seen before in football. No way the Leicester city guy is better than Gallagher. That’s not possible. We know all this is about money, and Chelsea will be the eventual looser, because the guy is going to stay one more year and leave on a free transfer, just like Christensen and Rudiger. It’s only a matter of time before it becomes clear that the owners and their sporting directors are running the club into the ground. In the next 5 to 6years, many of these young stars would start leaving to better run clubs when they are in their primes, and then it would become obvious how poorly the club has been run.
I'm with Gallagher. You can't compare him to Rudiger, he was a bought-in pro. Gallagher came up through our academy, but the a***holes currently running the club just it as a cash cow, importing all these one-day-maybes from South America, none with any connection to the club, or even the country. If he says, fine, and sits out a year then goes to whom he wants on no doubt much better terms, good on him. I guess a lot of supporters don't give a damn just so long as the team keeps winning. I'm afraid I'm a bit old school and believe players are more than just units to be traded. A mix of purchases with a core of guys who came up through the ranks. That's what Ferguson managed with the great treble-winning Man U team Abramovich admired and sought to emulate. Sure, he made some unwise purchases - Crespo, Veron, Shevchenko, Torres, Lukaku, etc, and should never have let Mourinho to persuade him to let people like de Bryune go, but his heart was in the right place. i.e., the club. I doubt the present crew have their hearts anywhere near it.
Reading below - It's amazing how disrespectful Chelsea fans are to their own players and easily forget what that player offered during their time at the club. I must be living in an alternative universe - times have definitely changed. Greed, money, selfishness, spolit brats?? I'm saddened about vitriolic treatment of Gallagher. He's come from a family of TRUE BLUES - not glory supporters. Frank Lampard wasn't fantastic when we first got him - he BECAME GREAT. Whatever happens I wish Conor well. He's been a great sportsman at the club
I remember clearly this was the same way u were carrying on about mount l. Chelsea will regret selling mount, Chelsea will be sorry letting him go etc etc. so far mount has don't nothing for Chelsea to regret for 60millon pound. Excellent business. So u see ur opinion is not always right l. Move on and stop crying over average players
Fun fact we offered him a new contract and he still rejected so his banishment if just TBH I love him but we can sell him and improve our chances of buying Osimhen
Spot on mate.. He should have learned from Mount.. He’s not bigger than the club and he thinks he’s better than he actually is.. I don’t rate him more than a squad player and just barely
Has Chelsea done anything illegal. It so pathetic listen to u. If he as good as u say. Chelsea is in conference league and two champions league wants u. Where's ur ambition.
Wait, Gallagher turns down 2 + 1 y contract offer and somehow the club is disrespectful to him? When there are doubts if he fits the playing style and is suitable for any of the roles, what is a reasonable contract proposal? I like Gallagher and want him to stay but the club are doing the sensible thing no?
All i can say is that we paid big money for average players with mushy legs who are always injured. Gallagher is always available and giving 100% everytime. All I want is for Gallagher to do whatever he thinks is good for him and i will support him all the way.
I remember Matt Law saying back in January, on the London is blue podcast that the Gallagher situation is quite different from Mason Mount's, that Mount wanting the wages that was put out online wasn't true, and that he wanted to stay. Matt stated that Gallagher has the ball in his court, unlike Mason allegedly had, so it's only right to question the information being put out there, for all we know it could be Connor's team making things difficult. It would be a real shame if he left, but there is no way he starts in this squad, not good enough on the ball - Loose dribbling unfortunately, not got that awareness and instead passed sideways or back a lot.
In my opinion, there are three or four big Gilders better than Conor Gallagher. However, in the case of. Chalobah he play better than Disasi and Badiashille
Conor reckons he's better if not at the same level as KDB was at 24 when he left us. If KDB can be integral in a Man City system, so can he. He played well enough to get into the national squad. The club arent acting in good faith etc, but I can see the need to get some home grown players off the books, particularly if it means possibly helping land Osimehn etc. KDH has been brought in. into the drop deep and drift forward to score role.
I seriously don't desire Connor to commit the same mistake made by Willian. Connor is a descent player I desire at Chelsea. His energy and not injury-prone is an advantage. I hope he picks the 2-year+ contract and forthwith proves himself integral to the Maresca system.
They thought that he cannot play for poch, he proved them wrong. What makes you think that he cannot play maresca game. When it's his bread and butter.
The owners are the owners, the fact he has been in chelsea all his life dosnt make Gallagher owner of chelsea. And honestly speaking i dont see Gallagher been better than kdh. You are really talking with your blue tinted glasses on
Agree with your comments on Gallagher. Unfortunately in todays cut-thorat world of Football, it's the money or making money that talks the loudest, despite a players best intentions. On a positive note, similar accadamy grads have left and are now representing England when they were also not deemed good enough.
Brutal treatment of Connor, but that contract offer wasn’t unreasonable, and no player gets the right to demand playing time. Disappointing all round though..
About Gallagher the club don't SEE him fitting into Maresca's system still they have offered him a new contract that he has rejected, AM could be a good move for him I believe that running out his contract will in the end be detrimental to his career
Bro it's the business of the game. When courtois refused to come back and demanded to go to Madrid. What about that. Dembele has done this at every club he played for
James is banned for the first 3 games, Maresca will have to start with a substitute right back, which is obviously Gusto, so I'll go with Chilli at left back, after his last performance.
Am not really sure if i can care more of whom they sell for now. if they can sell Hazard at that point he's very important to the progress of the club for money i guess. We were just lucky with T-Tuchel as a very tactical coach at that time. Can HE? Even Palmer as a new signing in a short time have help the club to maintain some high stardard more than some academy products combined..
You guys have to realize how demoralizing it is for everyone involved in the academy to see what’s been going on with our grads.. the club only sees academy grads as pure profit in the books instead of players who truly love Chelsea.
I don't think we all read the content of the contract offered to Cornor by Chelsea, so we can't be here bombarding him and comparing his situation to that of Mount's
He could sign the short term deal and prove himself, whatever you feel about him, we can't let him run down his contract. He has rejected Astone Villa ; a champions league team, Everton and now Atletico, what does he want?
Either we keep him and he walks for free and lose 35 mil.... or he goes, gets game time in Spain, increase his salary, we get 35 mil... which option looks like the win/win situation?
@roadking747 so we should let him run down his contract and get to leave for free because we have to be nice to him. Good lord, I did not know we are running a charity. This is business also, get a grip. Would you do that if were money? The owners need to protect the club.
This is very unprofessional. As a business. They treating him as if he does not perform. The game against city was missing him. The loyalty of the club has really lost its class. Such an American move.
It is a shame how Conor is being treated at Chelsea. He can definitely play in the new system. As at now he is better than Chukwuemeka and Kevin-Dubury hall. His sin is that he was from the Chelsea academy.
Was't Gallagher offered a 2 yr contract with option to extent for 1 year and he refused? We all know he will strive on a transitional play system, but for a positional play he is yet to prove himself. This is a reasonable offer base on options available to the club. I am sure the club will offer a better contract and his value and opportunity to earn more will increase, if he stays on that limited contract and prove he can play under Moresca. He doesn't want to do that which in essence is forcing the Club's hand. The club is a business not a charity.
midfield is congested with 10 midfielders. if he wants to play (and a hope for england), he needs to go. he's risking his career by staying. he's 24. he shouldn't be at that "prove im worth a place" phase.
I believe we should leave james out for this game against city just for the fact of he has a 3 match ban at start of season and our first game is against city so would make sense to leave him out and just see how we do even if it is a weaker side for city but they are still playing well and scoring goals.
This Gallagher situation happened to Malouda, Anelka and Drinkwater under Abrahimovic and with Lukaku, Ziyech, Sarr. It's always happened even before Boehly. Gallagher has rejected Astonvilla, Atletico Madrid bids and he has rejected a 3 year contract with Chelsea. The guy wants to run down his contract and go on a free so that he can sign big wages in his next club and make Chelsea lose money. But Chelsea have a rule where if a player is in the last 2 years of his contract, he either renews or gets sold So what are the options? Bow to the demands of a player they don't see as integral to the way we play, or lose him on a free? Those two options won't work for Chelsea. Hence Chelsea have a right to fight against that, people should remove their emotions from it
Gallagher hasn't forced his way into the squad under many different managers as you stated, he was at best a sub under tuchel he began starting under poch .... Gallagher it's time
Gallagher exit is cold, ruthless, portfolio turnover. Setting new precedents - Mount, Maatsen, Chalobah and Gallagher. Pure academy profit. Seed money for future ventures. Not about opportunity or capability. Rumor if true is Madueke may be for sale. Chelsea needs a striker, winger, left back depending on what deals get done. News on Kepa has gone quiet. Today's game will be about man management vs which type of team Guardiola puts out. Youngsters, mixed, vets with best youth. Guardiola could be playing mind games for season opener. Poker game play.
Lets face the truth here. Gallagher wouldnt start in the future. When everyone is fit. Caicedo and Enzo pricetags are too high. Lavia is close to starting. Cole Palmer has be shifted into midfield because Estevao will play on RW. Paéz also coming in next season. We signed already Comor´s replacement in KDH. Who earns max 40% what Conor got offered. His gametime would be limited to bench/rotation. And being honest and telling him about it is IMO kinda fair.
There's just no place for Gallagher. DM will most likely be Lavia or Enzo, then Caicedo as a possibility. 'Defensive' 8 will be Enzo or Caicedo. 'Attacking' 8 will be Dewsbury Hall or Nkunku, maybe even Palmer. There is no place for Gallagher. Ya maybe it's 'not fair' but life, and business is not fair. Gallagher is not part of Chelsea's plans, fans need to accept that. Do you really want him rotting on the bench as 3rd/4th choice in any position? If he knows what's best for his career he will go to Athletico Madrid.
I can't stand these people who don't see the bigger picture. If you treat your home grown bad what does it say about you as a club. Sooner or later it will have a negative effect on the club. And the talent will just go elsewhere.
If Reece plays today just know Maresca lacks experience. This is an ideal opportunity to test the squad without as he’s banned the first three games and we play city the first game. Even one of the reporters suggested that
Gallagher isn’t world class. He’s average af. Before last season who cared much about Gallagher let’s be honest? And that’s not being horrible. He wasn’t even on anyones bench. Last season when he come on or was starting fans complained (online anways) Yes he’s from the academy and he can run. Big whoop. He brings nothing to the team bar closing down opposition. Move him on end of
That closing down teams is what made us competitive against teams like Arsenal and Man City don't discredit his abilities because his playstyle is now Kante we don't have any other Kantes in our team except Caicedo and even with that Caicedo could nor play next to Enzo because Enzo work rate is worse than Jorginiho and that says something
You dis mention at some point that the players we hace are just no good enough. Now you are comparing a player that can run and give everything to this club to someone who is gifted and can offer the same physical impact
Which systems this board want, with four coaches already. I got the business part of not wanting him walk free but the rest is just unfair. Events their 100% system players has not outperformed Conor.
Look what's Gallagher did For England during the Euros, basically nothing.......let him go, he wants to run down his ontract and look what happened to Mason Mount over at United a bench warmer at best
at the end of the day gallagher is a good lad but absolutely not a player to lose sleep over, i’m sorry. we have colwill, and reece who are at the level we need them to be and that’s the standard for the academy, If you’re not at that level we’ll find a good place for you to continue your career. it’s just like any other club.
big up for you hard work man! I always appreciate your level headed takes and I fully agree with your thoughs around gallagher and other cobham graduets
In this team, Gallegher would have to collect the ball multiple times from the back and spread balls all over the pitch. Do you trust him to do it better than Lavia & Caicedo?
