Dear Chris & Marianne, we have the lockdowns on weekends as well as on the National and religious holidays. So please be prepared for the next two long lockdowns, first one will be beginning this friday midnight till 19 May tuesday midnight for 4 days (19 May is the Youth & Sports Day), although it is not officially declared but most probably second one will begin 22 May friday midnight till 26 May tuesday midnight (it is religious holiday of Ramadan on 24-25-26 May) for 4 days again. Hi from a Kiwi gal living in Fatih, Istanbul too 😊. I have been moved to tears by the kindness of the people here. My landlords have halved my rent and the lovely man who owns the teeny market downstairs has told me he will deliver anything I need from his shop. I'm not surprised you are being looked after by these awesome people. Its genuine kindness too. Rare in the world but so welcome
It has been such a mind blowing time during this pandemic and due to the zombie apocalypse media it is easy to believe the worst ... we (you and us) know how lucky we are to be here .... and Turkey will feature long and hard in our lives from now on !! best wishes and have a good trip home xx

Dear Marianne, I also had to shed a tear. Indeed the Turks are friendly, polite, and helpful. I speak of experience, that is the biggest reason that I will go on holiday twice next year to the south of Turkey, Oludeniz, Kas, Kalkan, and Alanya :-)
@@TREADtheglobe The area between Antalya and Bodrum is the road next to the beach and bays, this road is part Lycia route. This route is a true paradise and much heavenly. Antalya, Fhaselis, Olympos, Finike, Kas, Kalkan, Oludeniz, Fethiye, Ortaga, Dalyan, Marmaris, Datca and a whole lot more. Be happy and satisfied that you were imprisoned for three months due to the Corona Virus Covid 19, Tukije is a very hospitable country, I should know, I've been there about 15 times already. Having a catch up on you vlog's. Love the naughty cupboard made me laugh. I have been in lookdown for 9 weeks now☹️☹️. When the online shop turns up my wife sees all these extra things I put in the basket😄😄. I think it's a good idea out there doing weekend full lockdown..Stay safe.

Its great that you can move to get gas and food ....also the fact you can see other people about and the many interviews......we go shopping once a fortnight and do our laundry then we return to our parking place and see nobody till we go shopping again in another 2 -3 weeks ....we walk the dog every day and see nobody ......so we really are in isolation .....but we are healthy we have everything we need so we are very gratefull for that .....
We had a nightmare of a time finding this parking lot last spring when we were in Istanbul. For a second we thought were being funnel down into the tunnel to the Asia side where our van is too tall to enter! Luckily we saw an exit and got out at the last moment. Its very eerie to see Istanbul so empty.
Ha Ha - we actually did a video of trying to find it the first time and I ended up driving for and hour and a half around Istanbul .... and you know what that is like !! It was a great experience and we still laugh about it now !! Best wishes and glad you are all well xx

Community pets, very interesting, never heard of that, have to google. Pretty cat, maybe provide water for the cat as well if they do not have easy access. Thank you for feeding the fur babies in need.
The municipality takes care of the street animals all around Turkey so you can see cats and dogs everywhere. We love them. 😻 And honestly it makes you feel lucky to see a pet on the road and just pet them without owning any pets. :)
Hi Irem - it is funny as when we see dogs on the street you immediately think that they are "strays" so to have community pets is lovely - the guys here are doing so much with feeding and caring ... and the dogs and cats all have full bellies here !! 👏🇹🇷🙌💜

Fatih is the city where Syrian refugees have a normal life like in Syria so I didnt even see papper carriers and this kind of vehicles in İstanbul until I saw this video.
Hi - they are called community dogs - so although they sleep outside - everyone is invested in their care, the tag shows they have been neutered or spade, and they are fed and monitored by all the residents of the communities ... there are obviously people that care more ... and they happen to be the people we are staying with xx 💐🙌🌺 It is not community dogs they care for it is stray youtubers and overlanders that they take in and we all love them for it 🚐🙏🎉💜🇹🇷👏 best wishes Marianne xx

Hi - we are really lucky as we were invited to be a brand ambassador - it is a daily / weekly sub and it means as a business or nomadic worker you can use it on the road - or if you are on holiday you can arrange for it to be delivered to your hotel, and then you leave it when you check out and they only charge you for the days you used it !! It is WiFi on the go - they have a website Rentnconnect - when our sim card ran out they reached out and offered us help !! 🙌🇹🇷👏
