Peter, I'm also an American (from SD), have lived in Ukraine for 21 years...I've experienced most of what you shared in these videos (except for eating goat eyes)...I had tears in my eyes during this last video also...Whenever I've visited back home, once every 5 years, and see how American's live, I'm always ready to get back to Ukraine as soon as I can...I love Ukraine even more after watching your touching videos and getting to know that family also where you stayed...The people is what makes this country great...Too bad they lost so much during the war, but they are getting on their feet again it looks like.

It's Feb in 2024, and I just viewed this piece. Oh wow, the tears flowed so much. I feel myself living through your experiences. I love your kind demeanor and absolute humbleness while approaching the unknown. I'm finishing raising my daughter, we're getting close to 18, then I'd like to fly a bit, and also put myself in unknown circumstances. This piece was so hearty, lovely, and human. I'm so happy a girlfriend of mine sent me your name...I've been watching your tapings, and I take them with me in my mind throughout my day. Well done. God bless you. @@PeterSantenello Hello Friend, I am so overwelmed and impressed how you try to present the people around the world the several series of videos about different countries which shows, that it is worth living in between disaster, fighting, anger, conflict, misunderstanding, nevertheless, try to make the best out of it that live goes on. That not only money, big shopping, comfort matters but the feeling that small things for livelyhood matter. They bring happiness, peace in the heart and a smile on the face. I’ve watched a bunch of your videos and enjoyed them all. They alternate between heart warming and thought provoking , sometimes in the same video. And they stop at all the “feels” in between. This particular story is especially precious! I’m a Christian woman and I’ve noticed something, I think . You seem happiest and most relaxed when you are with people who believe in Jesus. I understand that. Jesus loves you, Peter! You can’t help but feel the love when you’re with them. Thank you for what you so expertly do. It’s valuable!

I just joined the weeping crowd who followed your journey with this most amazing family. Now, it's been over 3 and a half years, have you seen them since? And echoing many of the previous comments, thanks for showing us all this: your journey, life in a village of Ukraine, a family that showed an example to the world, and the whole eye opener element especially for those who live in the West. Great stuff!

Even more touching episode, than previous one 😢 I'm thankful to u, Peter.Because of you I have looked on my own country from different angle and found something really new for me. And I want to apologize for one of my previous comments, where I thought, that this family were sectarians. This is very good family, which never give up and stay positive. Hope to see some more interesting stuff from you. Editing of this episode is so awesome with numerous touching flashbacks! Very good job! 👍👌

That was very touching, I cried an ocean. There is something what I need to share with you. Watching all this episodes and aspecially the final one I found myself. Last year I traveled to Eritrea . I was staying in the very small and deep countryside. Not knowing any of local language or culture. I was learning it, while staying there. I was so far from what you nicely called 'comfort'. No electricity or running water. Noone talking my own language or English at least. I had to choose whether to love it or leave it. But I found something beautiful in the way people live there, that was so natural, that's how we used to couple of years ago in Europe as well. I feel stronger after that 8 weeks long adventure in Eritrea and I recommend to everyone this kind of experience because that what makes us stronger and smarter. Thank you Peter and big thanks to this fantastic family. You send a lot of love to all watchers. God bless you

Peter Santenello you are completely right. I have been to both Eritrea and Ukraine and I find people similar in this two countries. In Eritrea most of time I was staying in a very small village called Shebini, which is about 45 minutes by walk from Mai-Dema. Probably you have not heard of it but you can trust me it's zone out of 'comfort',but the experience I got there you couldn't buy by any money. I have seen your video from Asmara and Dekamhare, enjoyed it a lot and now patiently waiting for series from Kiev 😀 good luck man

Oh my word…. My heart has just burst into a million pieces. The love that was shown here… it was truly beautiful. A real and honest family bond. I cried so much. I cannot imagine leaving such a beautiful family. The intensity of emotions has me grieved. And, as much as reality dictates our lives go back to normal after such a trip, how can they? Sure, the sadness will subside as life continues, but the space they occupied in your heart will never go away. You are an amazing person, Peter. I think the way you reach out to people outside of your norm is so commendable. I’m blown away by your compassion and zeal for the lives of those around you. I’m working my way through every video you’ve made and I have yet to be disappointed. Thank you for documenting this soul-changing experience.

🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️ Dam Peter. You truly are the best content creator on RU-vid. No question. I only recently have followed you but came across a dozen or so of your videos because I love to watch documentary videos. The algorithm has lead me to you brother. Words cannot express how humbled and grateful and a part of me feels a bit terrible about myself. Watching you live and participate in this ukrainian family’s lives makes me truly put things into perspective here where I live and how I live. I watched your videos about your Moloka’i trip and I commented that I am from the big island. We Americans can’t complain. Of course our country isn’t perfect but we sure as hell can humble ourselves more often. I don’t speak for all but the American mindset has truly become a bit of an embarassing thing. The Americans can learn alot from these people who have such simplicities and are some of the happiest people on the planet. Truly you are a gem. I absolutely love your content and look forward to many more. Much love and Aloha brother🙏🏼❤️🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

This was very emotional. Brought memories when I married into an Iranian family here in the Bay Area. Learning the language and customs were a bit of a challenge and I was surprise you did so much in a 6-weeks period of time. Your work Peter is unique and this episode clearly shows your genuineness and honesty in journalism and is prelude of great things to come from you. Thank you.

I sit and cry. This is so touching! May God bless this family. May God bless you, Peter! Thank you for your experience. This is our experience too. A person lives and does not appreciate what he has. Thinks that somewhere better. And all the beauty, depth and magic around him does not see, does not appreciate. Good luck and good to you!
