Happy Ours is coming home - so we hope. Fiberglass, gelcoat and running gear repairs were completed. But will she sink when put back in the water after being in the boat graveyard for 3 months? Will she run? We’ll find out in this episode!
We put our boat at Safe Harbor Port Phoenix for repairs after Hurricane Ian and it’s finally time to take her home. There is still a lot of work to do, but this is our next step.
Follow along on our boating adventures as we take our 2006 341 Meridian to explore our new home waters in SW Florida around Cape Coral after relocating from the East coast New York on the Hudson River.

Wonderful video. Gosh, she really moves. So glad for you that your boat survived the storm . Could have been much worst. Very attractive boat. I have a Bayliner 2858. She is fast too. Hopefully someday I can trade up to a Meridian 341.

Good to see her back in the water. As for one engine not turning the same rpm... compress test... then explore the fuel delivery system... im guessing its fuel injected... could be as simple as low pressure or an air leak... i have seen you check and change filters on a regular basis. Hope you get it sorted out. So nice to see that you were able to save her.

I had similar problem with stb engine WOT 400 RPM less than port. Having the fuel injectors professionally cleaned solved the issue. They installed new screens and o-rings. My boat is 2005 and I doubt they had ever been cleaned. I have Volvo 8.1's and pulling the fuel rail with injectors was very simple. Took the rail assembly home and removed each injector. Now at same RPM, each engine shows the same fuel burn rate on the Garmin.
@AdventuresofHappyOurs

I’m thinking that’s the fix for my issue also. I’ll try a thru rail cleaning first.

U2 are fueling our new adventure. We hope to, in three years, own a boat, such as yours and winter on it in the Florida area. In the meantime, we need to learn serious boating skills. Any recommendations of schools to bring us up to speed? Our experience now is 20 ft. recreational boats in freshwater only. Thanks again for doing such a great job and with every aspect of your channel. We really like it.

I’ve learned much of what to expect on this journey from RU-vid. Watching others take the journey, where they went and what they did. Learning the rules of the road can also be taken with free online boating safety classes. Try BoatUS.org. Start off on smaller trips to learn your boat, become somewhat proficient in rudimentary maintenance. There are many excellent boating clubs such as the Power squadron and coast guard auxiliary that offer good boating courses in person. Study charts to know where you will go, learn the waters and the electronics you will need to rely on.

Great to see her back in the water, port engine problem might be a slightly blocked engine cooler, problem could be fixed by washing the engine cooler inlet and outlet, boat coolers usually never get blocked mid cooler,outlet or inlet. good luck and stay safe.
@AdventuresofHappyOurs
@AdventuresofHappyOurs Год назад
Why would that keep the rpm lower? It’s not running hot.
@sofakingcool8548
@sofakingcool8548 Год назад
@@AdventuresofHappyOurs if it's not the injectors then go for my suggestion I had the same problem, no heating problems, nothing. When I took the engine out for cleaning and replacing fuel tank I clean the cooler and when everything was done it was fixed

Nice to see her back in the water again Tom. I always ask this question of other boaters. My regal Burns about 20 gallons an hour when up on plane. What’s your fuel burn? Thanks… Nice to see you back on the water with your big boat.🎉

Question, the boat looks great. Why did you paint the props and shaft, vs applying Propspeed?

I’ve never used propspeed. The HullShield I installed claims to need anti fouling paint, so I’ll see how it works. If I still have issues, I may try prop speed next year.

@AdventuresofHappyOurs

I should ask the lift driver as they have a gauge that tells them correct? When the crane lifted her up from being on the hard, I thought I heard him say 25. That’s 5k+ over listed dry weight. It was holding quite a bit of rainwater in bilge and gas tanks but I didn’t think that much!

I still get nervous anytime I see someone walk under a strapped boat! Glad to see you back in the water! That has to be a fuel flow problem with one engine running less RPM's. One of our diesels was doing that, and we found where the fuel line to that one had become pinched. I straightened it out, and fixed it where it wouldn't kink again and that moved that engine from 3150 to 3400 RPM (right where it was supposed to be and where the other engine was at WOT)
