I remember when me and my wife used to be able to do stuff like that . She has been gone 8 years now and I am 77. Have fun while you are young and take plenty of pictures!
Laura, I haven't made a comment in a long time, I lost my wife last year after 58 years together and have really been down. This episode is so very special to me, we were travelers, adventurers, campers and most importantly sweethearts who never stopped dating. The relationship you and Grant have seems so familiar to me in the way you complement each other. I am so happy for you. Your cinematography and editing are great. I am a Vietnam Vet, so you know where to line me up with your family. Keep up the good work in making a good life and America a better place. (if you remember, I'm the one who asked if FARMS was a noun or verb. I loved your reply) Take care .
I had comment, first I want to send my condolences. I remember the times with parents and making many memories together. I remember his passing, so now I take every moment I can with her laughing and talking about dad.
@@jackkant2697 I lost my grandpa back in 2019 about 1 day after his birthday we found out that night my uncle went to his house to check in because my grandma can’t move anymore she is paralyzed from her waist so then my uncle said why is grandpa not moving so then my uncle who is a firefighter called his brother and they sent paramedics out to help and confirmed he was dead the next day I was crying for hours my friend helped me get though it because she also had past experiences like that so I thank her for the help may he rest in peace
The Black Hills are one of my favorites places in the States! Thank you for bringing us along on your camping trip. Your channel is not just about farming for us, it's about you two. You make us feel like we are part of your family and no matter what you do, we enjoy coming along because of who you are.
Good morning Sunshine! It is both good and very necessary to get away once in a while to decompress, relax and have fun. Glad you were able to sieze the moment and spend some quality time together and with your friends. Thank you for letting me tag along. Have a blessed week! Larry, Central Valley, Ca
Thank you so much for taking us along. Laura, you and Grant are choice and amazing people. I am 63, and I love how you value your lives both work and play. You remind me how important it is to embrace every moment. I have learned that every day, every moment in life is a precious and priceless gift. Especially what we consider to be hard or challenging. Or bad times. Thanks for your perspective and reminding me what is important. Sending love from Utah!!
Grant and Laura, thank you so much for sharing some of your personal details and your extended family with us. We feel part of your family and this enhances that. What's amazing is that you woke up and decided to go camping, and you found 8 ATVs worth of lifelong friends who are able to operate at that level of spontaneity as well. Nebraska is seriously mellow. I remember the wheat and oats we used to harvest in August in NE Oklahoma (Fairland and Miami). Do you think it's time to get a few cattle again?
Spending time away from real life is needed from time to time and thank You for taking us with you two. Laura, I tagged @Laurafarms in a Matt's off road recovery video this morning that had a John Deere tractor in it.
It was really Burnt. The owner claims a stolen tractor, gets the insurance money then goes and buys the next model he really wanted. Eric in that video is the road grader operator, so what was a farm tractor doing in a developing subdivision? Getting burned.
I’m not sure this couple is married. I’ve never even seen them hold hands. You’re sitting by a campfire at night and you can’t steal a kiss? Lol, just saying. I’m not talking about anything passionate, but not even a hug? Ahh! Prolly just related
I learned a few years back when I stopped on the highway to help someone change the blown tire on their travel trailer that bottle jacks don’t work very well. Ever since then I have taken my floor jack with me. It’s a mid sized one so it’s not to hard to handle. At least with a floor jack you can get under the axle
Wheat harvest is the most special and wonderful time to harvest, and yes I have very fond memories of it. I still love seeing it around us these days, though it's at a distance now.
Thanks for taking us on your vacation, Laura and Grant! Nice to see that you were able to take a break from work, enjoy nature, friends and each other. It was enjoyable to watch! God bless ya all!
Thanks Laura for all content been following your channel since the beginning. And as you said I’m living here in Connecticut through your videos. Grant and you are so passionate about your farming i’ve learnt so much watching. Your smile makes my day a little happier 😊😊❤ keeping up the hard work guys.
When my dad was farming, we always grew wheat. I remember sitting in the hopper of the combine watching it fill up. That was about 65 years ago. I'd take a little handful and chew it and Wala homemade gum.
LAURA the wire flexible gate is called a “COCKIES GATE” here in Australia, they’ve been around since Australia started with sheep and cattle. I couldn’t even begin to count how many I’ve opened and closed. Good to see you and Grant away from home relaxing. Cheers from QUEENSLAND AUSTRALIA.
Thank you for taking us along. Your trip brings back memories of travel with aunt and uncle with their air stream trailer. Was in the Black Hills and Yellow Stone. It was so much fun. I was between 8th and 9th grade. So many memories from back when I lived in West Des Moines Iowa. These days I send time with my 3 grandsons. We followed my daughter and family in 1999 from Portland area to N. Texas. I retired at the end of May 1999 and we moved into our new home June 8th. My wife and I have been married for 46 years. Our Lord Jesus Christ was keep us together and helped us as a family weather so hard events. It is very fulfilling to watch you and Grant go through life as a couple.
Laura and Grant, in your opperation of a modern farm and the life that goes along with it, it is refreshing to see your striving to maintain a ballance with getting back to basics to reconize what is truely important. With all the stresses that come with modern life it is easy to see within you both that those that have come before you (your grandfather for one) has instilled in you that proper wisdom that our Creator desires us to seek in our daily life. Thank you for sharing and my you continue to be blessed with the oppertunities to share these reminders for all.
I have to say I envy you two. My wife and I never got any real chance to go out do stuff like this together. Good on you! What kind of guy couldn't resist being with a woman who is as pretty as you, has a husky voice like Peppermint Patty and pretty red hair. Very nice content. All our kids are gone and we really don't know each other very well. 42 years.
It would be so awesome y'all do what you've talked about before. Purchase some cattle, continue growing your corn, and sweet corn, plus add wheat to your enterprise. Go LAURA FARMS!! Side note, course it'll definitely keep y'all on your toes and busy.
A perfect couple on a romantic camping trip, when looking back on when you got engaged, I wonder what you thought the future would be like, compared to how it has turned out. I would say you both have done great. Love from Mike. ❤
My wife and I retired in 1995 and started our RV travels around the whole of the USA ! Visited my relatives in New England area and Florida and all between. So many places on every trip. Our trips at first were 3 months on the west coast regon, then we started our 68 trips all over the States. Good Ford F250 460 EFI not great gas mileage but always took us wherever we wanted to go. I am 81 now and long to get back to traveling again. Bruce W
We're in our 4th cutting of hay and most of the grain is down and in silos here is southern Idaho. Potatoes are growing good, and that harvest should start in about 6 weeks. Beans are next though and their going to be doing onions in western Idaho before long. Corn should be middle of September and then sugar beets as soon as we get a good freeze. Crazy that summer is winding down. Good to see you're able to get away for a while. Thanks for the videos. You kids take care.
Just discovered you guys. I absolutely love this channel and more importantly - what you do. You are what this country should be about. Need more of you.
Sweet 🌽 grows to the same height as field corn, if planted at the same time. It's worth $77000 per acre bumper crop. At this time, it's used as a sweetener in frozen meals.
Enjoyed the video Laura and Grant. My Army National Guard company from central Illinois did our annual training one summer in South Dakota with some of our platoons working out of Yankton; and the rest of the company was at Ellsworth Air Force Base near Rapid City. I thought South Dakota along I90 was beautiful from that time as well as from hauling cattle to and from South Dakota with a semi truck. Also, I do remember your post several years ago where you showed where Grant proposed to you. Not too long ago you said you hoped your viewers were happier after watching your Tou Tube posts; and, well, I've got a smile on my face now.❤
Thanks for sharing your camping trip .Love it when you passed the farm equipment along the highway and got excited saying how cool it was, SD is so beautiful
You guys are an awesome couple. I'm glad to see you took some time to enjoy yourself and have fun. Trust me when I say time goes by so fast it seems like just yesterday I was 25 and now I'm 68. So work hard and take time to enjoy life also. Love ❤️ your videos. ❤❤❤
Thanks for taking us along on your trip! A 2-2.5 foot length of railroad tie, cut into an angled ramp on one end, should live permanently in each of your tandem axle trailers. The most convenient way ever to change a tire!
I went to the Black Hills a month ago for the first time. It is an awesome area. We figured it was cheaper to stay in hotels than to drag our camper 2,000 miles.
Hey, thanks a lot for your Video.🤗🤗🤗i enjoy it and love it so much. Free in Nature with a very good Equipment to move around. Like your Ranger and Trailer, also the time in the Night to sit on a harmonic fire 🔥. Thank you and god bless you 😘🙌🙌
G'day, G'day from W.A. Laura & Grant I must say that between your & other American tube channels I am in awe of the incredible diversity of landscapes you have in the U.S.A. It is great that you two are able to get away from the farm & meet up with your friends & loved ones & just let the stresses of farming disappear for a time. The quality & content of your videos has improved leaps & bounds over the last couple of years but you have retained a strong personal & genuineness of communicating with your viewers & subscribers that we all feel & appreciate. 👍🐈⬛ 😁.
You guys are so fortunate to live where you do with the wide open spaces and everything looks so clean and nice. I live near a West coast city and it is so full of graffiti and trash and crime. I used to live out near the country and gotta get back to it. I live in WA state and they grow wheat on hillsides in the Palouse. Interesting running a tractor on a hillside, but they have it down pat.
Wonderful, that you both show the ME Time of your lives. Was so enjoyable to watch you both find the time to decompress from the work life. LOVED the Music with your video. Now, you are approaching the time when you are go to Grind. But You Both will do Fine, weather permitting and no serious issues with weather, water or wear on your equipment. Stay safe Grant and Laura may your dreams be realized.
