This is our first time getting out of Bangkok in more than 3 years and this time we are flying from Bangkok to Imphal. In this video, we will share our experience of flying from Bangkok to Kolkata and Kolkata to Imphal in Manipur through Indigo Airlines.
My hometown is in Ukhryl district and the nearest airport is in Imphal.
Imphal is capital of Manipur and is one of the most ancient cities in India. Situated 786 m above sea level, Imphal is known for its scenic landscapes and greenery.
We are flying through indigo airline by connecting our flights in Kolkata.
With more then 250 planes in their fleet already and more than 600 (!) still on order, IndiGo is quickly becoming one of the world's largest Thailand and India is becoming closer every year especially for trade purpose.
The India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway is a highway under construction under India's Look East policy that will connect Moreh, India with Mae Sot, Thailand via Myanmar.[1] Imphal-Mandalay-Bangkok 55 km (34 mi) route, consisting of Imphal-Mandalay 584 km (363 mi) and Mandalay-Bangkok 1,397 km (868 mi), is a highway in good condition except for 101 km (63 mi) part of 120 km (75 mi) long Kalewa-Yagyi stretch being upgraded to 2-lane in each direction (total 4 lanes) highway by India.
Hope you guys will enjoy this video.
The Tangkhul Naga Tribe lives mostly in the Indo- Myanmar- Border area occupying the Ukhrul District of Manipur. According to Meitei dialect, “Tangkhul” can also be interpreted as ‘costly village’.
Tangkhuls are the village loving people. Right from the beginning, every Tangkhul village had been a well organized and independent political unit. Within its territory, every village enjoyed both internal as well as external independent of its own. The villages were guided by their customary and traditional laws. Most of the Tangkhul village sites were located near the spring or stream to ensure them dependable supply of drinking water. Another most important factor responsible for determining the location of a village was the security. They fulfilled all those criteria of a full-fledged state by possessing population, definite territory of their own and sovereignty of both internal as well as external. They were a self-sufficient and politically well organized democratic state. Most of the Tangkhul villages are thickly populated.
