I remember one game he lost and afterwords he called his team publicly, "sissies". Only time he insulted his team. He took whatever he had and made a team with it. In 1982-83, Celtics worst year with Larry, He still played at a high level, still passed the ball, still tried, EVERY SINGLE GAME. None of the arguments have ever been on talent (okay, some may argue) it is about his lack of effort.

Bird was calling every shot

While attending college Larry's team was playing mine and we heard they had a future all American on their team. So during warm ups we tried to guess which black player he was! If you were looking for the Hawks' defense against Bird, this isn't the video. He torched them here. It improves since the Celtics could only hold the Hawks to single digit defense. Celtics and Hawks had some wild games in the 80s. I'm 60. I don't know who told you that those Hawks teams played good D, but I never saw it. Dominique smoked Bird several times, but not when it really mattered.

So you're right it's not cool to like it on. But you don't realize that Atlanta in this game awakened the Giant. In the first quarter Antoin Carr dunked hard on Bird and talked trash to him. Bird just replied "Now I'mma light your whole team up." And that's what he did, he was calling out his shots to the hawks on the defensive end and then coming down and doing exactly what he said. This was a thrashing caused by Atlanta. Bird has plenty of games where he checks himself out in the third if he's having this kind of game. In one game he was one steal away from a quadruple double at the end of the third. He checked himself out and KC Jones was like get in there and get the quad. He refused and said, "I did enough damage. " Also go easy on Dominique. He was a rookie here.

Wilkins was not a good defender at all, his brother, Gerald Wilkins was a pretty solid defender. Bird was simply unreal this game, like you said, he made it look easy.

the Hawks were not.a great defensive team, they were an OFFENSIVE team.. like todays teams.. incomplete. however Bird did that to all time great defenders too like Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman so try not to sound tooooooo __________________ (insert your own word)
