LeBron James was up in arms over the weekend after referees missed a foul call on LeBron’s potential game-winning layup in regulation against the Boston Celtics. The Los Angeles Lakers would go on to lose in overtime. The referees association tweeted yesterday admitting the mistake saying quote, “Like everyone else, referees make mistakes. We made one at the end of last night’s game and that is gut-wrenching for us. This play will weigh heavily and cause sleepless nights as we strive to be the best referees we can be.” Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe react.

Was a bad call sure but was it the right yes to both. I'm not a Celtics fan but a Warriors & so far I noticed refs are allowing more physical play. Unlike what Skip said, travelling calls are on the rise just ask my Warriors. The main problem with the call wasn't the call itself but the refs are not consistent. If the NBA refs are calling it 1 way for teams, then call the same on the other end. It just feels like the lack of consistency might be a problem.

It wasn't really much of an argument. We know the only kind of "compliment" Skip ever gives Lebron is a backhanded one. He gave Lebron a generic pat on the back for driving to the hoop, then claimed Lebron low key rglad he didn't have to attempt shooting free throws. If that was Ben Simmons in that situation, Skip would've been reading the Officials The Riot Act and saying Simmons should get the MVP and a Purple Heart 💜 for having the "guts" to attempt a last second layup.

It’s not just about a horrible missed call, it’s the idea you’d selectively call touch fouls for 2 mins before then swallow your whistle when LeBron gets slapped so hard he can’t even get a layup high enough to go glass. Missed calls happen, it’s blatant inconsistency that makes the NBA such a joke.

While it's obvious LeBron was fouled, I find it LAUGHABLE how much he's complaining about this, when he OFTEN gets away with traveling, flopping for fouls that were never delivered and otherwise getting the benefit of the whistle that's undeserved. I can pull up a long list of times LeBron took 3, 4 or even 5 full steps and wasn't called for traveling. There are literally entire VIDEOS dedicated to LeBron flopping and getting away with it. Ok, so a few times the refs missed a foul. Forgive me for not shedding a tear for him.

Lebron is one of the top scorers in the paint and is 18th in free throw attempts per game, so when you say drive to the basket, stuff like this happens where he gets fouled and yet doesn't get any free throws. This is why he settles for the smart play of getting it to a open teammate.

Freethrows are one of the most basic fundamentals of basketball, yet it’s a weakness for lebron, who calls himself the goat. A goat should be good at all basic fundamentals.

Its basically an open secret. The refs are told what to nitpick about and what to let slide. What to call or not and on who. They let everyone get away with setting moving screens, they let everyone get away with traveling all over the place, but only so they can call it on you when it suits the nba. Its so apparent

And for the “the Lebron is such a crybaby” section, I’m glad he reacted that way some sort of rule change “might” occur which will not only benefit him (for however long he plays)but every other player in the league. Since the final 2 minutes are so important that they release a report after every game every questionable call that occurs in those final 2 minutes should be reviewable with or without a coach's challenge. That’s my proposition.
