Think about it, this is just like LeBron 2018 second half of the year with Cavs. I think we all, or a lot of us, might slightly underrate just how unstoppable of a scorer he is simply because he builds his teams up in a way that he doesn’t HAVE to constantly use it. But when he feels Like he has to? It’s absolute insanity. Seriously this dude is one of the best scorers the league has ever seen, easily, but because he just chills in terms of scoring aggression and instead plays a QB type of mindset game and casually drops 25 typically, we somehow underrate that lol. No hate on Russ, but you know how he talks about “if others could they would”. Well, that makes me think of LeBron here. I truly believe that A player like Russ is constantly trying their hardest to get all of the craziest stats. The idea of, let’s call it “pacing” oneself seems to be a bit lost on him. LeBron seems to be sort of the exact opposite, to a degree with scoring. It’s always felt like Bron could, if he was willing to try and score as much as he could and use that as his main way of trying to win each night, easily be around 30 ppg for his career. I mean it’s not like he doesn’t shoot a lot, but I believe 18-20 shots per gMae is where he has hovered for a long time. We’ve never seen him reach the heights of Jordan’s shots per game, hardens peak years, Russ’, Kobes, etc. i feel like that makes a HUGE difference when we analyze socrong greatness and we need to really look at that. If LeBron literally averaged 24.5 to 26 shots per game right? Wtf lol. Would he be the all time scoring king already if he did? Wow! 27.8 shots per game for Jordan his 3rd year haha! That’s amazing. With a .484 eFG. Imagine Bron and his career .540 ish eFG taking 25 shots per game for a season. Insanity This is the first time in 12 years LeBron has averaged over 20 shots, and he’s at only 20.4. He also had a stretch right through his absolute peak where he took under 19 shots per game for 7 straight years. He did take 23 per gMae one year, year 3, when he proved he could easily lead the league in scoring. It seems that once he realized how doable that was, he simply upped his volume, he decided that wasn’t the best way for him to balance his approach to helping his team achieve success. As much as he gets clowned for having all of the help that he brings together when he creates these teams, in a way it’s actually a somewhat unselfish thing individually. It’s all about team success. And I’m sorry, but I don’t think many clear mega star players would be happy to bring in players that are going to require them to shoot and score less than they possibly could, and therefore have a good amount of the causal public seem them as a less great scorer than they truly are. Steph is definitely one that comes to mind.
