Jerry West was too gracious to share what he likely thought about a LBJ. If LBJ was in Jerry Wests shoes and lost to the Celtics a few times. He would have bailed and tried to form a Super Team. Jerry West just kept trying and trying, played better and better, and eventually won a ring. i remember right after Kobe died Lebron made a statement because he happened to be in Philly playing Sixers in Kobes birthplace/ hometown and it came off like he was enjoying the fact that Kobe was gone, it was so gross, he tried to sound like it was a powerful moment, but he was clearly relishing it, was sick. And of course, he was inserting himself and his own importance into the discussion... it was actually more disgusting than when he stated on stage that "lucky for us, he's not retiring yet' and when he mocked Dirks illness..it surpassed those pinnacle of dry heave disgusting incidents.
West was never James mentor, he wasn't with the Lakers when James was there. They also weren't friends, West was not having the BS that James was spreading on his podcast. And at the end of the day, when James says things like this it feels insincere, and oddly self serving.

Yes Jeanie Buss revoked Jerry's tickets that were promised to him by the late Dr Buss before his passing. Sad part was how it went down. Instead of calling him, they sent a phone text to Jerry's wife, Karen, and did not provide a reason of the decision. Jerry West has always been consistent on how he moves and who he shows up for. Any real NBA fans especially lakers, Memphis, clippers, warriors fans would know that. There's a reason he was a consistent player, gm, exec and a person. Those stories from his family and friends have similarities. Thus, you'll never see jerry at any lebron function nor "achievements" not even in a laker colors. That is enough to know how much they don't have any relationship.
