LeBron James is a billionaire or close to it. An extra 10 million or 20 million dollars per year for the last year or two of his career will literally not even register on his balance sheet. It is a rounding error. LeBron should take the veteran minimum and allow whatever team signs him to afford depth. I'm a Spurs fan, the last couple years of Tim Duncan's career, I think he was paid 10 million, probably about half of what he could have gotten on the open market. LeBron has more money than Tim Duncan ever dreamed of. Sign for the minimum with whatever team drafts Bronny, let that team go get some other players and then ball out. I compare the last couple years of Tim Duncan's career to the last couple of Kobe's. Bryant was getting paid something like 50 million for his last 2 years and it hamstrung the Lakers. LeBron could solidify his legacy, play with his son, and have a real chance of winning.

But mike, to be fair about when you said Kevin Durant can't lead a team. I think that's a little harsh because he spent the first 8 years of his career with Russell Westbrook who while being one of the top 75 players of all times he might be the most erratic player we've ever seen in NBA history. Plus you forgot to mention that he took the Brooklyn Nets all the way to the Western Conference finals and would have won it except for that Tow on the line.
