LeBron James made history as he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader with his 38 points in the Los Angeles Lakers 133-130 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Colin Cowherd explains why this shows that LeBron's career 'is the greatest basketball career beginning to end.' He then gets into whether LeBron may move on from L.A. after saying that he is not done yet.

They probably were on covers at one time and in the news often, but nobody cares now. Most never live up to the hype and that's because it's hard to predict the next best player because many work harder than the next guy to achieve greatness. I'm sure Lebron worked hard at staying on top, but I don't think he ever really did anything extra but maybe shooting 3s. Never really worked on Free throws and didn't have many go to moves, but what he has is effective.

@@alvaro4867 Lebron was never going to win in 2011. Not only was that year 1 post decision but they kind of disappointed. People expected an unstoppable, super team juggernaut and instead they did not even finish as a 1 seed in their own conference. In 2014-2015, Curry's team blitzed the entire league and won 67 games, 14 more than Lebron's Cavs team. Curry also played 11 more games than Lebron did that year, a pretty massive difference. Michael Jordan won ZERO In the year before Micheal Jordan and LeBron James joined their team and the year after they left their team, their records were 83-84 bulls 27-55 84-85 bulls. 38-44 92-93 bulls 57-25 93-94 bulls 55-27 98-99 bulls 13-37 without Scottie Pippen 00-01 wizards 19-63 01-02 wizards. 37-45 02-03 wizards 37-45 03-04 wizards 25-57 02-03 cavaliers 17-65 03-04 cavaliers 35-47 09-10 cavaliers 61-21 10-11 cavaliers 19-63 09-10 heat. 47-35 10-11 heat 58-24 14-15 heat 37-45 2013-14 cavaliers 33-49 2014-15 cavaliers 53-29 2017- 18 cavaliers 50-32 2018-19 cavaliers 19-63 2017-18 lakers. 35-47 2018-19 lakers were 20-14 when LeBron James got injured on Christmas day. @Truth is Harsh Michael Jordan played five seasons without Scottie Pippen 84-85 38-44..First round exit 85-86. 30-52..First round exit 86-87. 40-42...First round exit 01-02. 37-45..out of playoffs 02-03. 37-45..out of playoffs LeBron james carried an absolutely horrific 2007 Cleveland Cavaliers team to the nba finals In the modern NBA era (post 1960) only eight NBA top 75 players have won a championship without another top 75 player as a teammate Rick Barry (1975) Hakeem Olajuwon (1994) Tim Duncan (2005) (2007) Kobe Bryant (2009) (2010) Steph Curry (2015) (2022) LeBron james (2016) Kawhi Leonard (2019) Giannis Antetokounmpo (2021) As you can see, LeBron James is on the list and Michael Jordan isnt Lebron james has won 17 playoff series, without an nba top 75 teammate. Michael Jordan won ZERO In the year before Michael Jordan and LeBron James joined their team and the year after they left their team, their records were 83-84 bulls 27-55 84-85 bulls. 38-44 92-93 bulls 57-25 93-94 bulls 55-27 98-99 bulls 13-37 without Scottie Pippen 00-01 wizards 19-63 01-02 wizards. 37-45 02-03 wizards 37-45 03-04 wizards 25-57 02-03 cavaliers 17-65 03-04 cavaliers 35-47 09-10 cavaliers 61-21 10-11 cavaliers 19-63 09-10 heat. 47-35 10-11 heat 58-24 14-15 heat 37-45 2013-14 cavaliers 33-49 2014-15 cavaliers 53-29 2017- 18 cavaliers 50-32 2018-19 cavaliers 19-63 2017-18 lakers. 35-47 2018-19 lakers were 20-14 when LeBron James got injured on Christmas day. As you can see When LeBron James joins a team, the team improves more than Michael Jordan and when LeBron James leaves a team, the team always goes into the tank. Michael Jordan, excluding the 94-97 seasons, when the NBA moved the three point line to 22 feet, was a career 28% three point shooter. LeBron James is a career 34% three point shooter Michael Jordan was a great defensive player, in an Era where you could handcheck. Playing defense is much easier when you can handcheck. For nearly 6'9 250 LeBron James' entire career he wasn't afforded the opportunity to handcheck. THE EVIDENCE IS CLEAR..LEBRON JAMES IS THE GOAT!!!!!

What is with people obsessing over who is the goat or not. Litterally cannot click a video like this without seeing the same couple comments over and over. Most subjective thing ever, you can’t clearly say lebron or mj is better when they played in different eras. Also mj was in a time when you didn’t switch teams nearly as often.If lebron had his whole career in Cleveland it would be talked about much different likely. Or that defense is much softer now a days. Not saying mj is just saying there’s so many factors and a lot of players like Tim Duncan, etc have more championships and played a style that benefited their team in a way that you could argue they were “goats” as well.

How so? I love Kareem. But LeBron has had success in EVERY category, success in multiple cities, been a TRUE leader on any team he's played on, his bad year was kawhi Leonard's (The guy people kept trying to sell as the greatest 2way player since Jordan) career high, he's top 5 in opposite categories (meaning he's the best at passing and scoring), and has passed the greatest scores ever while scoring was his second greatest gift. He's waaaay better at passing them scoring, but has passed all your favorite scorers. Not to mention, the only good coach that you can say he's played under is Eric spoelstra. Kareem had john wooden then Pat Riley! That's awesome! Jordan had Dean Smith, Doug Collins (a bit of a stretch), and Phil Jackson! LeBron has seen coaches come and go and he's had success whether they were good or bad. Kareem did that as well. Also, Kareem had years where guys were carrying him. That's not a bad thing. But LeBron has never been carried on ANY championship team. In his prime or out of his prime. His efficiency has been consistently great for 20 years. No disrespect

@PurpleMonkeyDishwasher88 Год назад
Funny how he mentions Lebron having the "greatest basketball career beginning to end" and completely disregard the man Lebron took 20yrs to reach. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has the greatest career in basketball history. In high school Kareem led Power Memorial High to 3 NYC championships and a 79-2 record (with a 71 win streak). Since players couldn't be drafted out of high school or as underclassmen into the NBA, KAJ spent 4 years in college. Freshmen were ineligible to start, for UCLA, so he was on the freshman team. The following 3-years he led UCLA to a 88-2 record, won the NCAA Championship 3x, was National Player of the year 3x, and NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player 3x. In the NBA KAJ was MVP 6x and NBA Champion 6x. Imagine if KAJ started playing out of high school like Lebron. With how skilled he was right out of the gate, he very easily would've been averaging 30+ in the mid-late 60's. The scoring title could easily have been at 48-50,000 points. Think about that.
@Brando90198
@Brando90198 Год назад
Flip side to that argument is, imagine if the ABA was started just before LBJ came in to the league. And all the talent went there. Til his 8-9 year in. How many more points would lebron have? You see the captain benefited of playing in a very water down league when all the talent went to the ABA. And after the merger he never averaged more than 27ppg after that.

He doesn't positively affect winning and the reason for that is because he does not play defense at the same level because he can't. It's not a knock, it's just a fact. He needs to be around defenders, shooters, and playmakers. He can still facilitate the offense but he needs more help than he ever has
