Lebrun brothers leave Butterfly and sign with Tibhar

Partner of ETTU (European Table Tennis Union) and other national associations.
The French Alexis Lebrun and his younger brother Felix Lebrun, were announced this Saturday, September 3, as new players for the German company Tibhar.
Alexis, 19 years old, is the current French national champion and ranks 30th in the world. Felix, just 15 years old (16 years old on September 12), was a semi-finalist in French Championship (lost to his brother) and is in 71st position in WR. Together they recently won the bronze medal at the European Championships.
The transfer from Butterfly to Tibhar was a big surprise. Alexis and Felix
have been Butterfly players since they started in TT and they are nephews
of Christophe Legout, a former French national team player and now a businessman. The Legout company has Butterfly's exclusive representation in France. Legout posted on Instagram a message of farewell and thanks to the Lebrun brothers.

Mon equipment est butterfly sauf les balles (nitaku). Je ne change pas. Mais je leur souhaite beaucoup de succès. C'est pas un sport super bien payé comme le tennis malgré la difficulté et concurrence. Donc je peux comprendre.

Why did they do it? Butterfly maybe don't want to make their own blade series?

If you're not a superstar like Timo Boll, you get almost no money from Butterfly. The boys are now professional players and need to be paid well.

Because BTY team slept on this case. Every Brand wants to close a contract with these guys when they are Young. If BTY does not present a good offering, it ia hard tô hold the guys. Abs It ia what happened.

R.I.P. Now they won't have good equipment anymore. Tibhar rubbers are really good, but the blades are garbage imo

Dima was with Donic for years, it didn't prevented him to use Tenergy for years. They will have their blades, a good sponsoring contract and maybe the right to use the rubbers that they want (unofficially) like dignic 09c. Thibar is in need of talent now that Samsonov retired even if they have Jorgic.

They will probably do the same thing like most pros - keep their BTY blades and only add Tibhar handles.

Just use a Shang Kun, Jorgic or Drinkhal and be happy.

lol, you are not forced to play with their material. Ask Dima and Donic before he switched to Butterfly. Also a good player is still a good player with a not "butterfly" branded blade. Do not let the Butterfly Marketing wash your brain.
