@@tanupareek7741 but isnt earth constrained by the gravitational force of sun? And moreover can you explain how it can have 3 rotational motion?

@@tanupareek7741 if earth in space alone, neglecting sun, gravity and all other factors, if dof is 6 like you said then dof of a particle in 3d space should also be 6 right? why they are saying it as 3. i mean why only translation motion is taken into consideration?.

@@vengat3556 so basically a rigid body made of mainly 3 particle imagine like a triangle then you can define it all and then if we subtract 3 constraint then we got 6 degree of freedom
