Is there any calculation for the dimension to design a shock tube? eg length of driver, driven section and diameter of the tube

smaller is more efficient, 1-3 inch diameter, just enough to get a pressure sensors inside..length can be 3 feet long enough to get consistent measure of mach velocity

No explanation on how a xt-diagram is plotted. If someone does a simulation of a shock-tube what values would they have to write-out to generate the x-t diagram? Repeating stuff in Anderson's book does not help in clearing concepts.
