This really resonated with me. "If you're under the influence of the spirit, you're not going to be listening to secular music." I literally just had this conversation with my wife last night after dinner. I cannot believe the type of music I used to listen to, and this was just 3-4 years ago before I gave my life to Christ! He has completely transformed my worldview, and the spirit is moving like a hurricane. Yes we are one race, but Kingdom culture directs us to seek justice for all who are suffering injustice. We have to be careful not to use this narrative of Kingdom over culture to distract us from loving others suffering persecution because of their culture and ethnicity. I stopped listening to Lecrae, Tripp Lee, Andy Mineo, and the rest of them several years ago, because deep in my gut, I felt like something wasn't right with them and now I realize, it was the Holy Spirit letting me know. I can't stand hearing secular music when I'm in a store, at a gas station, visiting friends, etc. It irritates me so badly! I'm just praying that God puts good, solid, 100% Christian people in my life and leads me to a church that is all about relationship with God and stands on every single word of the Bible, because all that's in my area is religious churches, that are all about the religious motions and all about denomination. Since God has opened my eyes to a WHOLE LOT of things, there's a lot that I just can't roll with.

At one time I can honestly say I was lukewarm, I would still listen to certain rap music. This was after I answered the calling to be a minister. But then God dealt with me and reminded me I’m 32. I have children and needed to start connecting them to powerful spirit filled music. You were the first artist he brought to my attention and some of the immediate feelings I had was: 1) these songs are great 2) I don’t feel weird or convicted after listening like I feel great; and 3) look at God multiplying Marcus’ talents because he uses them. Not one scripture says get on a pedestal and call out Christian Artists!! Would you get on stage at your church and call out someone by name in the congregation who you saw in sin? Ned prayer for healing I have been in home with back mold for over 3 years !!!! It's literally by the grace of God I'm not dead. I listen to secular music..go to secular games, movies etc and i absolutely am spirit filled and alk in grace with the gifts. Just because people listen to secular music does not mean a person is lukewarm. I absolutely am not lukewarm.

Wow, off-topic (from the video) but didn't 'Welcome to America' show 3 different perspectives as pertains to the struggles faced by some of our fellow Americans & those seeking citizenship in America? I always thought the song was written in response to the intolerance, biases & bigotry espoused by many in the U.S. who were claiming they possessed the love of Christ, but were openly living a life contrary to that, because whether people want to admit it or not, there are a lot of hateful individuals claiming to be Christians. The scriptures even speak on this, so it's not surprising, but most believers are't comfortable addressing it. Lecrea has had a lot of missteps, but Welcome to America was one of the only things I thought he'd gotten right.

So if you really love someone you point them to Heaven/Jesus now to GIVE THEM HOPE in light of those temporary afflictions AND you point them to Jesus for eternity as the ultimate solution. I’ve not listened to any secular music since I got saved and born again in 2020 and I used to love country music and all types of rock music and I have no desire of listening to any of that anymore because I have the desires of my Heavenly Father and the Holy Spirit in me and my desires have changed and they keep changing for the things He loves and not for the worldly things that’s enmity against Him🙏

To consider himself as a pastor, Marcus surely does spend a lot of time following, watching, and listening to certain artists' music and videos. Why would a pastor be trolling people's social media accounts and scrolling through their comments? Sounds like envy and jealousy. I can't imagine Jesus or the disciples wasting such much time talking about certain individuals, especially those who aren't saved.

Living for a God should be your life period. It’s not always easy to live for God but it’s completely necessary for a true relationship with him.
Once upon a time I used to think it was impossible to be “sinless” or genuinely satisfied by God. As I continue to seek Christ I realized that He is the origin of satisfaction. I was someone who listened to all types of music when I was in the world and it was a STONG HOLD in my life, even after being a Christian. God truly set me free from music that was destroying me and showed me that yes you should enjoy the music you listen to but the music you enjoy really comes from your desires, appetite’s & ultimately your heart. It will always point to what’s happening inside of you & when you desire secular music somewhere you are still believing their lies which comes from satan. Some say “that’s too deep” , but I believe in Christ, we have to endeavor to really know God, then we will know true satisfaction and hate the things He hates. Not because we want to “look” perfect and follow this long list of rules but because we are truly in love with Him and desire to be in fellowship with Him. There is true distinction with God’s Spirit & other spirits but people don’t know that if they don’t spend time with Him.

For the past couple of days I've been trying to play hip-hop music even while working out and I felt really convicted. The Lord showed me that anytime a play or watch a hip hop video I'm pushing their kingdom....last night before I worked out I was about to play hiphop again and I got convicted again. I really believe The Lord is convicting me to pick a side.
