This is actually a really good value right now, with the spare battery and all the accessories, for $1400. That's a really quiet e-bike. Lectric is definitely improving their standards, I'm glad to see so many companies continue to drastically improve products with each year. The standard is rising.
@@KEVS6975 No, just giving my opinion. There are dozens of e-bikes I'd place above any Lectric bike, if I was going to shill for anybody it wouldn't be them. But Lectric keeps up with trends, they try to implement what customers will expect from their e-bikes. Lectric bikes are going to be similar to the kind of affordable mid-performance you can expect to see from tons of other brands. They're not innovating, pushing into new territory, or even riding at the front of the wave, but they're definitely in that wave, so when you start seeing bikes like this from companies like Lectric, it's safe to say that you can start expecting this much bike from all the other manufacturers. Once all the companies like Lectric are competing at that level of bike, it starts becoming available at much lower prices, and the floor for bare minimum performance expected from an e-bike, rises. When I say I'm glad to see Lectric making a bike this good, it's not because I think Lectric makes the best bikes. It's because I know they don't. I know they're mid. So when they're doing it, everybody's going to be doing it. 2022, most e-bikes were still under 750W, and most 750W e-bikes didn't even get over 1 kW Peak, and most of them didn't even have enough power to get 28 mph, many of them peaking at 23-25 mph and dropping low enough that you couldn't even pedal them back up to 28 mph on your last two bars. Most of them had 160mm disc rotors, even the 750W cargo e-bikes that typically had 1100-1400W Peak. Most of the e-bikes on the market in the past had "e-bike style" frames, whereas a lot of us want e-bikes that still look and feel primarily like a bike. So it's nice to be seeing that the standard e-bike in 2024 is looking like an MTB, BMX, or Commuter style e-bike with a 750W or better rated motor with 1200-1600W Peak, enough power to achieve and maintain 28 mph even as the battery drops down to 2 bars, making it viable on more roads around US cities. And more have 180mm or 203mm disc rotors now. I'm seeing more 24 and 26 inch tires instead of 20-inch tires. I'm seeing more suspension, often full suspension. I'm seeing integrated tail lights. I'm seeing more regular bikes that are not cargo bikes, rated for 300, 330, or 440 lbs instead of 264 lbs. Instead of seeing so many bikes with 10-13 Ah batteries touted as large, I'm seeing 12.8 and 14.4 being the small batteries and 18-20 Ah is normal, over 1 kWh batteries are quite common on any e-bike with even slightly above average capacity. Lots of e-bikes are coming with a free spare battery, instead of demanding $600-1000 for one. The rising baseline means everyone aspiring to be notable has to aim higher to stand out.
Same I ride the 2.0 and no complaints I upgraded to the 11 34 freewheel which makes it a hill climbing beast then I carry a extra 10.4 amp battery in my paneer bag so I got total 24.8 amp with my long range battery in the bike So my range is roughly average 60-80 miles in the Denver metro front range area which can be pretty dam hilly 😂😂😂 but the XP kicks ass
Did you happen to hear about the major upgrades Wired made to the Freedom and Cruiser? An extra 15A battery, 3000W motor, 45A controller, 4 piston brakes with 203mm rotors, full suspension on the Cruiser and the sick new Lime green color option. Same price. I hope you will end up reviewing them.
Thank you for the great reviews! Please do a review on the Lectric Xpress 500 and/or 750w please. I'm gonna test ride one this weekend might buy one, super excited about getting my first E bike.
After much research I bought a Shengmilo S600 AWD bike. Wish you would do a test of it. Only 71lbs for a full size AWD ebike. I love it and can't find anything wrong with the design.
They did a good job with this bike.. sounds solid and has a decent front fork set up. Letric seems to have one of the best support systems. I wouldn't toss this bike out of bed for chain greasing up my sheets.😂 Then you mentioned some rattle 😭
I ordered one last November and it arrived in late January. My 5th bike, but first E-Bike. I love it, but I am still getting use to how heavy it is. I regularly ride back and forth to work (28 miles round) with more than half battery capacity remaining. I am a short big guy, but ride CAT 2 mainly PED 3 (as I want some exercise). I have just started riding the local off road trails and having a blast. The only Issue I have had are the snake-eyed looks from bike purists --hey I'm get out at least.
It happens with a lot of different products . Someone will ride a bike or certain car and act like a pathetic child if you do something different then them . Somewhere along the line they never grew up . Best to be ignored
can't please everyone in life, nor should you; like if youre not riding it like a jerk its whatever.... some people just want the entire path as their exercise playground and won't change and see the great benefit to society overall with ebikes becoming accessible. And at the end of the day its one less car not contributing to grid lock and congestion.
I enjoy annoying people simply because of my bike. Im a adult child. lol. But, I also think the spandex crew is ridiculous. Everybody where I live dresses like they're training for Tour De France.
He knows no different, ever since he was born a new bike rolls through the door every few days. One of these days he’s gonna be talking with his buddies and be in for a real surprise when he finds out this is not the norm.
It’s alright. I have the high step. My foot hits the front fender in turns. The comfort seat from Lectric is very loud and squeaky- embarrassingly so, the rear rotor clangs like crazy during acceleration (not the brakes), and the rear brake motor cutoff was sticking. They sent me a new rear brake but I can’t get the hose fed through the frame. Voltage sag is VERY present during rides. Lectric has a “no return” policy on their website.
Use to think this bike was really cool but I seen a review about it being a lil dicey with sharp turns. Was hitting a dude's shoe from pedal when making significant turns. (Edit:) Could have been fixed, believe that was an earlier version of bike.
Seems like the bike is not balanced well . Also in trying to save money the front tire is to close to the pedals resulting in ones foot hitting the tire when turning sharper turns . Both versions have the shaking issue . Think not? Try putting any kind of a load on the rear rack . I really like Lectric but seems like they cut to many corners on the xpeak.. extra battery now included with purchase .
Hello to the TailHappyTV community. I'm looking for my first e-bike for roads and trails. Any ideas on one under $2000 with a Torque sensor? Perferably something with full suspension but hardtail is fine as well.
Lemme tell ya what! I have that exact bike. I've had NOTHING but problems. Freewheel locked up on me, 14 miles out from home and the chain kept coming off because of the freewheel. Rear brakes faded completely, had to buy brake bleed kit to fix. Front end speed wobble (above around 14 mph) that will send you flying if you're riding no hands. Bike comes with damn near everything loose and wobbly. Take time to go over bike completely. Grips rotate as you ride, very annoying having to move grips back to where you want them. Now, my motor controller is toast. Lectric has sent me replacement parts, but, I'm not in this to spend my time fixing this lemon. Also, each breakdown erases a bit of confidence. These things are shoddy and outright dangerous in some instances. Also, that derailleur guard WILL NOT protect anything should you go down, it will bend and interfere with derailleur.
Can you do a evaluation of the Lectric One? Especially of its performance on your famous garage driveway uphill. Same test for the new XP Lite 2.0 belt drive. I am having a hard time getting any knowledgeable answers from whoever is replying to their emails.
Why can they hold a QR Through axel patient when FOX have had the QT through axel for the past 20 year's what we get with all fox suspension but best to change it out for the Kabolt type
You never mention that most seat posts come in 27.2 diameter posts..And what you need for it is actually a shim to put in for any larger seat stem sizes. Maybe you can show a seat post shim some day.
SHOULD I BUY THE NEW WIRED BIKE? I'm close to Chicago so i can get it for pickup and I need a step thru that goes 40 and has full suspension and a 20ah and 15ah battery all for 2000$. I just don't know if another bike will drop soon like the revv1 gen 2 or sumthing.
@kfrashmon Do you think they will sell out? I want to wait like closer to the end of the month to see if I should get it in case another company comes out with something better.
@kfrashmon Yaa I'll probably order a cruiser in a week or 2. I wonder if I can pick it up as soon as they get them. I don't want to wait haha. I'll be salty if they sell out.
Im looking for a new bike and that is not going to be this one . Its too square and seem not as good as what i already got Revibikes Prowler is not available 😢 From what ive seen my hiboy p6 still better for the price put hydraulic brakes and keep it clean i still do 30 mph trottle only and 35 pedaling. For something faster i ll have to pay twice the price What i noticed is most bikes go fast but brakes are not doing well after a while and become very dangerous . 28 mph is more than good ,range is fine , what i would like is a bike that have insane acceleration but also keep it as the battery get lower . Personally im not as tall as you i like the seat to be as near the rear wheel as it can be, lowrider hands high and mostly not pedaling 😅
I have a similar ebike with both 26x4 and another wheel set that's 27.5x3, 27.5x3 is better 99% of the time, eventually these other manufactures will figure this out and move on from 26x4. Unless you are riding in sand or snow, there's no benefit, only downside to 26x4.
@Anderson_999, Yes Yes Yes. I'm old retired. full suspension on 3" tires. yes because I can afford it. the whole point of an e bike. In case U might/Will HAVE to pedal.
ITS MIND NUMBING THESE BIKE MAKERS KEEP FUKING PUTTING THE BATTERY IN THE LOWER PORTION OF THE FRAME, SO GRAVITY JUST WORKS AGAINST YOU W/ SOME POTENTIAL PRBOLEMS. THEY CAN EASILY PUT BATTERY IN THE TOP PORTION OF THE FRAME LIKE HiBOY DOES.
@freddurst4420, SIR, I agree with you. A mind is numbed by HiBoy, when ... that mind believes it should state opinions as facts in support of bad, less than ideal battery positioning. sir more 420 and less wind! my say said, Lectric could do more with batteries for real people real world range wants needs, mounting and pre-wiring of a 2nd battery. Say positioning like on the Expedition. Perfect! peace
Is the company addressing the wobble that’s been widely reported? I finally find an e-bike company with good customer service ✅ but their bike seems to have a serious flaw. 👎🏻
The front tire is also to close to the pedal resulting in your foot hitting the tire when turning certain angles . That and the super cheap (18650) 48v10ah battery packs set this bike as one to skip . They started off great but to me have been sidetracked in the wring direction lately . And they advertise there e-bikes as max 28mph but that is tough to get to and impossible to maintain . Now i am interested in seeing the upcoming (non paid) reviews of the X-press and i will watch for the past issues that i look for in an e-bike . (Must maintain 28mph, must not wobble (properly balanced) , front tire away from the pedals so as not to hit the tire) i would prefer 21700 cells but likely will still have the old super cheap cells
Be happy that you bought a hardtail. Cheap rear suspensions wear out and start to creak. Put a Suntour NCX suspension seatpost in it and it is half the way to a fully while beeing super easy to maintain. This rear suspension trend in the US will get a real problem for the costumers, as all of these chinese companies give a fck once you paid the bike. So keep it simple and you won't get into trouble.
@@Benjamin_Jehne My first ebike was a hard tail. It was such a pain to ride, I had to install a suspension seatpost (a kinekt 2.1 back in the day). The ebikes i've bought since then have had rear suspension - which I've preferred. One thing to watch out for are low end "moped" style full suspension ebikes where the rear suspension is so stiff with limited travel as to be nearly useless.
As cheap as the cells cost its time to get rid of the 48v 10ah packs . 18650 cells no less . These are dirt cheap . By now 21700 cells 48v20ah should be minimum . Right now e-cells and wired are setting the bar with 60v35ah for roughly $2500 total . E-cells with 60v20ah for under $2000 . So even with some fancy gear shifter the lectric one with the super tiny 48v10ah 18650 cells is just plain silly . $2000 with a 48v10ah battery is just odd . What good does some fancy shifter do when you have no range .. so while i do like Lectric as i do own there 3.0 they are making some odd decisions lately in my opinion .
The new Wired bikes come standard with 2100 watt hours of capacity vs 672 for the Lectric. Both Wired models are full suspension and cost $1999 plus shipping. The new Wired 60v 45 amp potted contoller pulls over 3200 watts, 1000 watts more than e shills and 2000 more than Lectric. The Wired bikes also use a RST quick release thru axle, so much safer on a high powered bike. Every other bike you review this year is going to pale in comparison.
Totally sanitized comments! Not an iota about all the engineering flaws associated with this totally hyped up alleged Mountain bike. Nothing but the usual frivolous jibber-jabber and praise; much is said but never revealed!
@@mikec4308 I'm to paranoid about the front tire being in the way. I might just buy a fast light hard tail I can put slicks on with special handlebars, I don't even know anymore, just wish I had land and a garden so I do t even want an ebike anymore lol
They're definitely not sending an extra battery. They sent mine with over "four hundred dollars worth of free stuff" meaning plastic fenders, a plastic "lock" which should just be called a minor deterrent.. Great for around town when you're not going to leave your bike for a long time period though. Then there's the "elite headlight" which is not elite at all but total crap but they offer you an upgrade to "premium headlight" for $50! For such an important feature they should delete the elite and just give us a good headlight from the start. Cheap plastic end cap mirrors, I do mean plastic, no glass here and there's a difference When you're trying to see. All of that stuff is somewhat useful but the only quality part they send you for "free" is the rear rack which Is very sturdy and alot of cool accessories can be added to it. A battery would have been nice though!
Love your reviews but read the manual. The bike unlocks to class 3 and top speed is way over 20mph. Probably around 28. So zero to 20 won't start cutting the power at 18.
Can you give me some pointers, a few models to look at in like lost. I was looking at velotric, I want a torque sensor I think. The t1ST had my attention but I hear it's unnatural feel to pedal, ide probably love it. Then I look at ones with better range, like the nomad. But don't think that has a torque sensor lol
@@ShouldaWaved I personally have an Aventon Aventure.2 .The torque sensor is very natural compared to the peddle assist from other bikes I've owned. I have an extra 24ah battery hooked up on the back rack and was able to ride 26 miles and still have 96% battery left. That's 1 option. I did own a Ride1up Revv1 and I also had a dual battery setup on it too, I could get 50 -60 miles on that and top out at 41mph. It all depends on what you're looking for.
@@davidlorin1379 dang that's impressive. I need a well rounded one that's handles good and can handle some trail use but a lot of highway commutes and the town is 27 miles away sometimes ide go there
Rode mine 13 miles yesterday with zero issues even at 28mph on broken and smooth pavement. I really think it's more of a step through problem than anything and an easily solved one at that.
They both do it . Anyone showing videos of it all wobble to some extent . The step over becomes bad when you put anything on the rear rack . It’s just not balanced well and the front tire is to close to the pedals . Needed to be angled out farther . Likely done to shave a couple dollars in the extra size frame
I honestly don't see the point of coming out with this bike in 2024. They've been making bikes long enough that they should do something different. Why would I buy this when theres 1000s that are exactly the same and 1000s that are much better? I honestly dont understand whos buying all these bikes? Its all rehashed trash
It's not 2K. t won't sell at that price, bet it never will be. You get two batteries with this bike. Great customer support. This bike is quiet, unknown with an Amazon bike.
The batteries on cheap Amazon bikes won’t last nearly as long as a name brand. 100% worth just buying name brand for the support, better components and build quality, and being able to find replacement parts when the time comes. Coming from experience lol.
Right now , wired freedom is setting the bar on value vs your $ . I mentioned before on lectric posts that they need to upgrade the battery capacity and get rid of the 10ah version altogether . The cells that are in these packs are very cheap in cost .(very) so lectric has a $2000 ebike with (you guessed it) a tiny 48v 10ah battery pack which will not get you very far at all. I know these cells are very low cost , wired just showed that with a rather large battery capacity with there dual battery set up . 60v no less . With all the works (203mm rotors, 4 piston brakes, 60v 35ah total capacity , etc, etc.
