In this Show and Tell video we take a look at a Lectron Tesla to J1772 adapter I won on an ebay auction at the end we test it out on a Tesla destination charger.
So you tried it on a supercharger? Glad it didn’t blow the battery up. Lol. Did it just not work? Or did the Prime give you an error? I just bought this adapter for an upcoming road trip ciz the hotel I’m staying at has a Tesla destination charger. My prime needs juice while I spend the night. I’m hoping it’s not a supercharger. Yeah I unknowingly did. Most superchargers have that fancy red Tesla stand. These ones didn't they were kinda plain looking. I managed to park in such a way that it did reach haha. Most hotels have destination chargers. The supercharger cable is really thick compared to the destination charger.
@@HadesOmega after seeing this video, I bought a Tesla wall charger and had it installed yesterday, also bought Lectron Tesla to J1772 48A connector (short one). The car is almost around 90% charged when I tried charging, to my surprise it is charging at the same slow 120V speed. I was expecting Level2 pace. I have a Rav4 Prime XSE.
I just got a Rav4 Prime XSE and live in a downtown apt. I was hoping I could charge my car at the station by my office, unfortunately none of the plugs fit. Will this adapter work with a charging station that has a 2CCS or a 1CCS CHAD-eMO?
Unfortunately it will not. This will only work on Tesla destination chargers. It won't work with CCS, Chademo, or Superchargers. The Rav4 Prime is not equipped for DC fastcharge =(
