How many people have learned more about Christianity from Jordan Peterson than any pastor or priest?

It's funny how this man makes me more invested into the Bible than any priest that I've met so far in my life and being 24 years old guy from Poland I've met a lot of priests belive me.

I am 80 years old and loving every lecture. I sure hope I live long enough to hear Dr. Peterson go through the whole Bible!! 💕

Who would have thought so many people would immediately consume a 2.5 hour academic lecture on their free time. 10k so far and counting. People want to hear what you have to say Mr. Peterson. I did the self-authoring suite while on vacation. It prompted me to make some meaningful changes. Keep talking. We are listening.

I have now watched all of Jordan Peterson's biblical lectures, taken notes on each of them, and done his self-authoring suite over the last 5 months. The results are astonishing, my anxiety: GONE, my nihilism: GONE, my constant self-denigration: GONE. It's been a stressful and deep ride, but my life has cleared up from the constant catastrophes I endured in architecture school. Everything Jordan said in this video is now known-territory for me. I am sad Dr. Peterson had to go through the drama of being violently and unfairly protested (and almost fired from U of T!) but at the same time, I am glad his “confronting the dragon” (and all the fire coming his way) allowed for his knowledge and lecturing skills to transcend his classroom and curriculum responsibilities, to build something of incredible value that so many of us benefit from. If it wasn’t for all that terrible experience, I don’t see how Peterson’s repository of knowledge would have reached me, and so many others. I am so grateful for that

Many years later, Paul writes in Romans, "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do-this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it." "So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?" Which is Paul's way of saying, The Struggle is Real.

This man is becoming an icon of intelligence for our era

Jordan you made me re-evaluate my personal need for religion as a moral compass, Thank You.

I studied psychoanalysis (object relations) in grad school. I’ve been fascinated by Jung for 20 years. My BA is in experimental and developmental psychology. I found cognitive neuroscience interesting since my undergrad years. Then I found Dr Peterson. OMG.

Thank you for this. It was Jung's contention in his 'Psychology and Religion' that man isn't content with dogma and liturgy, but wants to experience God personally, which opened my eyes. It was a milestone on my own journey towards actually meeting God in Jesus Christ.

Your work here with your Biblical series of lectures is, in my humble opinion, a shining example of what "aiming to the highest Good you can imagine" looks like in practice. Thank you, Dr. Peterson.

In perhaps my darkest moment for the past half year, almost exactly to the t (+- 2minutes) a new biblical lecture appears. I'll take that as a sign of something, and pay extra attention for the upcoming couple of hours. Thank you.

Interesting how Dr Peterson explains trying to figure out the meaning of life as *"no one can do that alone, it's insanity"*. This is exactly what it is unless we have people we can trust that explain things as deep as our psychological interactions with reality. Those (myself included) who spend many hours alone pondering, wandering, and wondering about what it all means need to indulge in contact with others. Sometimes more, sometimes less depending on the people we contact. Watching this series has answered more questions about life for me in 30 hours than the previous 61 years. I would only hope to live to be 122 or more so I can enjoy it without all the baggage of pondering, wandering, and wondering...or, at least, spend those hours helping others find the same answers.

I listen to Perterson everyday at work, he nourish my soul. I heard the most honest and complete answer about connection of Islam and Christianity. God bless you and your family.

It makes me so happy to see Mr. Peterson get such a warm welcome. I saw this man go from standing outside a college being called a nazi to psychology rockstar in about a year. Kinda gives me hope about some of you.

I discovered something interesting whilst hiking. Stones retain a lot of heat from the sun, so if it was getting dark and you needed rest, a stone would be a good heat source ;) I thought of Jacobs pillow then.

When JP says he doesn't buy the skeptical assertion that people on their deathbeds only have mystical experiences because it's their brains' last attempt at alleviating pain, it reminded me of something Dostoevsky wrote in Brothers Karamazov (I think). Something along the lines of: When very mentally ill people report seeing ghosts, people always assume their mental illness caused the experience. How do we know that ghosts don't only appear to severely mentally ill people? Dostoevsky was being a little sarcastic I think but he probably thought it was worth considering.

I'm a pastor and have been committed to the spread of the Bible and its teachings for the last 20 years. You are absolutely one of the greatest Biblical teachers of this generation, and have helped open my eyes on many key passages in scripture. I pray for you every day Jordan.

My favourite thing to do is to lay down in a quiet room and listen to these lectures as I let myself drift in and out of sleep. It opens up my mind and somehow lets me absorb the knowledge so easily. I always wake up feeling like I've had a revelation and recharged. Thank you Dr. Peterson!

So powerful, if life was just about the pursuit of happiness, then perhaps it would be better to never exist at all....but it's so much more than that.

Jordan has a different approach than all the pastors I’ve seen. Very refreshing. God chooses whom he will. Jesus is pouring his spirit on all flesh. We can complain about the way things are going. I rather not because we are living in very special times. Embrace the truth and stand firm. We might have to go into the fire but God will protect us.

Not a fan of pity parties but listening to your lectures I’ve been able to connect dots I’ve never seen before. My mother, God bless her heart. Was battling depression and raising 3 kids alone, and as the middle child I found myself getting the least amount of attention, acting out, getting in trouble. I think that “favorite of the mother” part of the lecture really made a lot of sense to me, i didn’t have confidence growing up, I would chase women who’d hurt me cause I wasn’t taught what love was. It’s crazy to see this parallel play out in your own life.

“Do not sacrifice the future to the present…” & “When things are really dark all you have is whether or not you can trust yourself”…Really important advice for any time of life. As for knowing one’s sheep….that’s just a weird thing about people who keep sheep…sheep are individuals and very memorable. I can tell if one of my sheep is just beginning to get ill…the way they walk, their eyes, every sheep is keenly unique. Conversely my sheep each know me and respond in their own way. Some come up for a touch and some just look and others will shift feet. Knowing your sheep and vis versa is not a strange thing.

I try not to put any man on a pedestal, but I really appreciate my friend Ryan showing me Jordan Peterson a couple years ago. A lot of people have a misunderstanding of the Bible and of the Christian faith, and no wonder considering the complexity of the "religion" and the complexity of spirituality in general. Jordan helps people to understand Jesus. Jordan has helped me to understand the Bible, people, and myself a little better and I'm very grateful for that. I love my church, and my preacher does an amazing job, but I hope God has and will continue to bless Jordan Peterson and the teachings he has done on the Bible. 💚💚💚.

My dad couldn't read, he went to Catholic schools and his aunt used to read him the NT. My dad knew the NT by heart...word for word. I thought it was pretty amazing...still do. My dad was a smart man and made a good living. I miss you dad and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you.😢💔

That question about Islam is actually pretty interesting and amusing... it's the same stories, the same prophets, very similar traditions and background and history - yet not quite the same message. So if you look at the bible - you could see that kind of sentiment echoing with the characters. Ishmael is of the same seed as Isaac and they share the same father... yet Isaac is considered a Hebrew patriarch and Ishmael is to some extent an anti-hero, even though it's not very clear from the text why that is. This thing echoes again with Jacob and Esau - again, Jacob is a revered patriarch and Esau is at best an adversary who threatens him. Interestingly enough, both Ishmael and Esau are held in high regard in Islam (both are common Muslim names). Now my sense of it is that Ishmael and Esau symbolize strength, dominance, violence even - these are highly sought after characteristics in the Islamic world, even the word "Islam" means "submission". It's about clear cut dominance with God at the top of the hierarchy and Muhammad being the most perfect human being according to said values and characteristics. In Jewish tradition however, Ishmael and Esau symbolize gullibility, low culture, expediency and irresponsible and unjust use of strength whereas the Hebrew patriarchs might be frail, cowardly even, but also cunning, intelligent, competent, resilient and when pressed ultimately honest and self-aware and self-correcting. There's a clear tension between the Hebrew patriarch archetype (Isaac & Jacob) and the "others" in the Bible (Ishmael & Esau). They are brothers but also adversaries. They love each other but also hate each other. They love each other because they're brothers and share a common ancestor but they hate each other because their values and paradigms are extremely conflicting. So yes, this is the relationship between Judaism and Islam to this very day and by extension the relationship between Christianity and Islam (though Christianity deviates in terms of values into other directions from Judaism). Islam is seen as a religion of dominance (which it self advertises to be) which is disagreeable to the Judaeo-Christian Western thinker.

Dr Peterson always discusses happiness is not a goal but the focus should be on accomplishment. I don't believe these two are mutually exclusive. While I agree happiness in and of itself is not the goal, but rather a by product of achievement. The happiest times of my life we useually a result of my achievements and accomplishments. My most unhappiest times was where I had little contol or influence over events in my life or among my family members. I also happy in my family's or close friend's achievements.

One of the most inspiring things to me is that Dr. Peterson is a manifestation of the behavioral characteristics that he teaches! His ideals and his conduct is harmonized or integrated. So he has an amazing degree of integrity! He is such an inspiration! Besides being phenomenally interesting!

I'm grateful for Peterson and his strength to stand up. Had he not stood up and become a target for the media, I would have never found him. His lectures have helped me in more ways than one and continue to help me . I'm a self treating borderline personality disorder. Thank you

I love the fact that Dr Peterson never uhms and ahs, the occasional Canadian eh, but the guy is so thoughtful about what he says, and what he says means something real, unlike 90% of intellectuals; especially postmodernists lol, dumb as dumb can be. A star.

As a Christian In the Protestant reformed tradition I think that his ability to paint a picture of the inner life these biblical figures is really insightful. Obviously I disagree with many of the conclusions but I find other parts of this very good.

I am deeply moved by the revelations (lol) that I have listening to Dr Peterson. I am non religious btw, but the stories are deeper than, or as deep as religion. Thank you. I appreciate you and your perspective and willingness to share with a poor black girl, not all of us can be the one percent, but I am lucky, or blessed despite that and ONLY GOD KNOWS why... I am indebted, rightfully so, and I've not gained any knowledge without some sort of sacrifice. I can say so much more, but all I'll say is I dropped my SJW mentality a bit. Thanks 😊

Best channel on YT for me. When stuff happens in my life....I go to JP's channel. Because I know I'll find a segment that relates to my particular problem that day. And I'll watch that video as it helps me cope. Not kidding! This channel is better than any other... when you're looking to gain confidence, inspiration and wisdom; I go to JP,s channel. It's kept me together on days when I should've completely fell apart.

I'm a historical theologian by training and I've learned more from Peterson about the Hebrew Bible than I have learned in all my reading, searching and asking over 79 years; he's a graduate school and then some.
