Thanks I've had multiple bulbs go bad in a short time frame. Clipping the resister ( if the circuit is similar ) certainly will save me some bucks. Ive always wondered if one can expect any longevity living in a county that has a power grid full surges and brown outs ? Any comments...

Boa tarde. Não se preocupe, pois tudo que você passou para abrir a cúpula nós também passamos, inclusive o furo no dedo. Quanto ao círcuito integrado, esse aí trabalha diferentemente dos que já vi, pois nos que conheço, se retirar um resistor em paralelo, aumentará a resistência e o ci entenderá que os leds precisam de mais corrente. Esse aí é bem interessante. Da próxima vez use uma luva para abrir a lâmpada e tire o soquete metálico para trabalhar com mais liberdade. Forte abraço do Brasil.

I notice that manufactures overdrive bulbs, they rovent and Led/electronic broke faster. Imagine them how much can be durable H24 on... Just obsolescence (and more junk product)

How long before manufacturers find a way to prevent this. It's basically undoing their planned obsolescence.

Is it possible to just break some of the LEDs to reduce the power and light?

I'm rather perplexed with such a poor power factor. If the buck converter were placed *before* the capacitor bank, with its input filtered by only a small film capacitor, its power factor would have been much closer to 95%. It would have a very choppy current draw, but good enough for a cheap bulb. You don't really need much to get to >80% P.F. Even a constant current load -- which a properly driven LED is -- would suffice. So much for ecology, right?! No one cares if their new cheapo "green" lightbulb demands twice the current from the power grid than it really needs...

Not all LED bulb is having same circuit. I was looking solution to reduce the current because I believe led bulb use contant current circuit and i found your video. If you please to help me advice me how to identify and change the circuit of any led bulb.
