I am really glad I found this. Those are great, and I learned a few technics as well thank you. I was making keep sake boxes for x-mas gifts. I will be using my router a bit more I can see. I will be making a couple lamps now as well. Thanks those are great.
Thank you Eli! I was testing the sharpness of my plane i picked one shaving up towards the light and saw it was transparent. I immediately thought I should make a lamp! :)
Nice lamp and very detailed progress. only thing that i would do differently is use some led strips in stead of a bulb. thisway you can make the light have an even light distribution (running the strip from top to bottom). in this case you see clairly where the bulb is located.
You are right, I thought about using strips but it was weekend, the stores were closed and I had this bulb lying around so I said what the hell.. It would look better with strips..

Can you do a dog brush and the surface of the brush shape it like cones? I'm trying to make one but i only have a chisel and a router lol. Here's 90% done imgur.com/a/NfhXj I'm planning on carve the blacked squares with the router then carve the borders with the chisel, then i'll shape the squares like cones. I hope it works.
