Thanks for this deep troubleshooting, I have 75' Vizio flat screen with three busted capacitor in the power board, I replaced the 3 capacitor but the TV will still not come on though the capacitors rating was 68uf 450 but I was able to get 47uf 450 to replace them but still not working no single light anywhere
Sorry for saying this but Mr. Tevz, your soldering iron and solder wire both are of very bad quality, see the amount of slag when the wire melts and also try to do clean soldering, when TV is opened it should be difficult to tell if TV has been repaired or not. Thank you for lovely videos 👍👍👍
Welcome to switch mode hell, you have to change parts by the handful. Why leave out the Zener? TVs seem to live a long life, I assume in the Philippines.

What is the backlight voltage when set is in standby and voltage when set is turned on.At the beginning you said voltage was 60v and should go up but later on i saw the the same voltage on the meter when you said set was now working.Pls clarify or did i miss something.thank you

Why you scratch the board to weld it on the ground. And not on the original soldering. And also why you join these soldering on 1 side to the ground. Why ziner diotes didn't replace.? I think ziner allow only a minimum voltage reverse. Because you didn't have the exact omh resistor. That's why you left the ziner Empty. If you had replace the ziner diote the voltage would go through ziner and won't reverse amount voltage back. May be am wrong also.🙏 Only you can help me to understand the circuit. I scratch it to remove the varnish so the lead will flow, there is a polarity note where the anode of the diode goes. The zener diode use only for protection to the pwm driver. 0.17 ohms . Close to .33 ohms. If you put 2.2 ohms that's not going to work.
Yes, the Zener diode uses to regulate voltage. But the job of the Zener here is not to regulate voltage. This is to prevent a high voltage from entering the PWM driver controller. just like when the mosfet was damaged or got shorted, the Zener diode will do the work, it will get shorted and the high voltage now not going into the driver. So then the driver is will be ok. The Zener diode is about 18 volts. When the next time the mosfet gets shorted without the Zener diode the driver may also be damaged. I hope you understand.
