LED Electric Violins are seemingly all the rage today. Private and corporate clients are paying extra to have performers with light up violins. Audiences love them, too.
So what are the options? What do they sound like?
In this video, we'll talk about two different Aurora Electric Violins (the Classic and the Silhouette), the 3Dvarius Prism, the Spectra lighting kit for the Yamaha YEV, and the newest member of the club, the OpenFab PDX Strata Glow.

We don't include pricing in the videos anymore because prices change and these videos last....well...longer than the prices do.

There are already violin sounds in there. They come from the factory that way.

Is there such a thing as a violin with jumbo frets? I want to do a lot of chords so want to have that guitar slotted in feel.

Not really. The shorter scale length makes it a little problematic.

Thanks!@@ElectricViolinShop I took out my guitar removed the low strings, and bowed it like a cello not a great sound, but maybe that's the way to go. I think I'll need to crank up the action to make it work right though. The funny thing about bowing a normally fretted instrument is that you can't palm mute the strings. That bow will make a sound on the strings no matter how you try to mute it. I eventually want one of those ns designs they look great and I like how the shoulder rest looks.
