New truck, new projects!
Upgrading the headlights on my 2015 Silverado 2500HD to LEDs. The truck already has projector-style lamps for the low beams, high beams and fog lights - so this was just a bulb update.. which.. is a little easier said than done as my truck requires that you disassemble the grill, fender skirt, and remove the light itself in order to access the bulbs.
The bulbs that I used (I have used this brand before in my Chevy Volt and have had good experiences for the cost - www.amazon.com...)

You know the passenger side you just remove the air filter housing and you can access the bulbs.

For all the people that are complaining about the crappy design... I agree. Realistically though, you could still probably change the bulbs in less than 30 minutes. Really not that bad if you enjoy wrenching on cars.

You have patience, I'd sell it. I've driven cars, SUVs and HGV trucks, never seen such a bad design. Drivers are responsible to ensure all lights are working etc, this should be a much easier job.

I don’t disagree in terms of the short-sighted design.. I also know though that this is a fairly common thing. I remember a friend of mine used to have a Volkswagen Passat that required you to remove the front bumper in order to access the headlight bulbs. Luckily LEDs last a very long time so this is probably the only time I will ever have to do this 🤣👍

@@chrisn5079 I didn't have that experience - but I did notice that the Silverado seemed to have inconsistent voltage when the truck was off vs when the engine was running so I wouldn't doubt it I guess. My lights would slightly flicker in that 30 seconds after I turned off the truck where the headlights remained on.. but when the truck was running they appeared to be solid

The one I bought isn’t listed anymore.. this looks to be the equivalent though SHENKENUO Fit For SILVERADO 1500 2500 3500 HD (2007-2015) Halogen Replacement LED Bulbs,9005/HB3 High Beam + H11 Low Beam,Pack of 4 a.co/d/4CrAh11

Auto designers should be made to work on the stupid designs they come up with. GM has lost all respect with me it is a failing co.

Hard to disagree. Truth is they don’t expect people to work on them themselves and make a ton of money in service

Ive been through 2 sets of LED headlights on a 2015 silverado 3500hd. They dont last. Halogen (believe it or not) last longer. Plus, even with LEDs you still have that stupid "line" above the headlights. Stupid design. Only thing i dont like about this model Chevy. (There's no such thing as a perfect truck, every brand has its issues)

It’s a feast or famine thing.. the LEDs in my Chevy Volt have lasted 7 years. The ones in my Ram 1500 had been in there 3 years and were going strong when I traded it in. But I’ve also had friends lose lights after a month or two
