Starting Aug 1st of this year, traditional light bulbs will be banned for manufacturing and sales. Now I am all for saving energy, as none of us want a high utility bill.
it seems we are trading tit for tat here. Yes, LEDs save power, but I am more worried about the environmental impacts from the manufacturing and disposal of the plastics in LED bulbs, where as an incandescent have minimal parts, all consisting of environmentally friendly materials (metal and glass).
2nd point, as long as I am paying for what that meter is measuring, it is none of anyone's business how many 60/75/100 watt loads I have. For all I care, it could be 40 televisions running 24/7 drawing at least 80 watts each!
This ban completely lacks consistency, is completely disproportionate, and above all lacks practicality.
