This is my new cover of Achilles Last Stand's guitar solo, a song by Led Zeppelin, off the "Presence" album (1976).
I used a FREE BACKING TRACK that contains Drums and Bass, and I played all of the Guitar parts.
I think this is one of the best songs by Led Zeppelin, and its for sure the most complex song by this band.
I personally think that this song is way too underrated, its as epic as Stairway to Heaven, and it also features more work and creativity on all instruments.
Maybe this song had "bad luck" cuz it was realeased in an album where not all of the songs were as epic and amazing as Achilles.
On another circumstances, Achilles Last Stand could be considered as the best and most famous Led Zeppelin song.
Its guitar solo is very interesting, there are 2 parts where the tempo changes, and the solo re-takes the normal tempo again. This solo is FULL of feeling, and I did my best to cover that crucial detail.

Yeah imo it's the best solo ever conceived and realized on the medium of guitar. If you want something nearly on this level you will listen to the solo on I can't quit you babe. That is also untouchable.

Man, there's nothing to comment about this... This solo is one of the most inspired things on Rock history, this is perfect, you can FEEL the emotion that Jimmy put on the song. And you did it so great, you are a FUCKING GOOD player, your tecnique, your timming, your feeling... congratulations, that's what we can call a performer!

I love "Tea for one" too, Its a great blues song, in the same key as Since Ive Been Loving you, Jimmy even used in Tea For One some licks that he used to play in SIBLY during live performances. I hope to make a cover of this song.

In the '70s when I was a teenager Page was my God, and this is my all-time favorite solo of his. Exceptionally well done, man. Nice guitar, too. :)

0:34 - The best Chord for me of the solo. Just sounds so almost God-like and gives me goosebumps everytime. Achilles is arguably Zeps best song technically and one of their best. For me has to be Top 5 or even Top 3.

@guitarmadness458 thanks, I really appreciate your opinion. You know, theres already A LOT of improvisation covers here on YT, and I love doing that too when Im playing around in my place. However, I sometimes like watching somebody getting close to the original thing, I personally enjoy that. And when I searched for this kind of stuff I couldnt find many guys that did it this way. Thats why I focused on this "accuracy" thing when making my videos :) rock on!

HOLY SHIT, this is the best cover of any song i have heard of any led zeppelin song EVER. the part with all three guitars at once was mind blowing. i watched this at least 6 times, and im gunna keep watching it untill my heart explodes from overflow of awsome! simple version, this song is sex, and my friend, you played it all night long

yeah Fred, I get your point, Achilles should be considered as one of the best led zep songs, and almost nobody seems to know it. I love "Tea for One", its in key of Cm, thats why it sounds so much like Sibly. And some Tea for one licks were used on the live versions of Sibly. Also, Jimmy accepted that "Tea for one" was the only time that they copied themselves. thanks for stopping by!

Agree with you 100%. This is definetely the most underrated song for Led Zeppelin. I do like Tea for One from this album as well. I have not any covers for that song- next project maybe?

@MrWildboy214 thanks man well, I didnt take lessons, so I didnt learn the best way, I had to figure out a lot of stuff by myself. The first thing I focused on was chords, first position, bar chords, etc. I learnt a lot of songs just by strumming chords. Slowly I would figure out an easy solo or lick from time to time (i.e. dust in the wind's violin solo, lei it be's solo, etc). Thats how I started. Your skills will improve and youll discover a lot of things by yourself.
