I saw Zepplin at the Long Beach Arena in 1975. They will always be my favorite band. I learned to play harmonica to Bring It On Home when I was 11 years old. I play blues harmonica professionally to this day. People always ask me how I chose it as my fav instrument. (They’re always surprised because I’m a woman). I tell them Led Zeppelin 1 changed my life!

I was 17 years old, and I had just driven this girl to her house to drop her off. She was like, "I still have some time to drive around, if you want." As I pulled away from the curb, "I'm gonna crawl" came on, and she reached out and held my hand. We've been happily married now for 30 years. Another Led Zeppelin success story.

Dude, what an iconic memory to share with everyone. You knew she was a keeper. I love it when music of the past brings you back to a perfect moment in time. A date dance, a roller skating trip at the rink with your favorite girl, a party, or just hanging out with your buds drinking a bunch of cold ones during a summer's day. PERFECT!

There were 4 different covers for this album as I remember it. All of them came in a brown paper wrapper. You didn't know which you were going to get as a buyer/fan of Zeppelin until bought and then opened. That's the way I remember it. Now you have the internet. It's better than my memory, most of the time, until things get deleted and rewritten lately. Keep your books and magazines.

It did come in a brown wrapper, because there were a few different album covers for this album. I don't recall exactly, but the covers were all the same scene with some slight differences. Like maybe a different person sitting at the bar. Was so long ago, can't remember exactly

I was 13 in 1979 and just turned 57 & still play this LP often. I remember buying this album when it was first released & had tacked the paper bag cover on my wall for years afterwards. Unfortunately I never got to see Led Zeppelin live but I did get to see Page/Plant in 1995 on their Unleddeed tour which was awesome! I have also seen Page solo (1988), Plant/Krauss (2008) excellent, and saw Plant solo around 2012 which was also an amazing show. I am a guitar player as well & have taught myself many Zeppelin songs on both Acoustic & Electric over the years. I learned the solo to "Fool In The Rain" and never get sick of playing it & it has remained fun to play. I have a Boss OC-2 Octave pedal I stack with a Big Muff Fuzz through my Marshall Tube amp & can get the same sound he gets which adds to keeping the solo fun on that song. It is a fun story as well. I agree completely. As for classic rock radio, they insist on a playlist of no more than about 400 songs. They are scared to death that someone will change the station if they don't get their daily dose of "fool in the rain" when all the while the audience would f*cking love to hear so many others that never get played on super conservative classic rock radio. Like No Quarter for instance. Or the Battle of evermore. Classic rock radio COULD be so much better.

Couple of cases of Budweiser, couple bags of bud (back when it was natural and awesome) a couple of water bongs, bags of Doritos and it was on. The nbrs. absolutely LOVED this album. I agree its brilliance was denied by so many fans because it was not of the bands past sound. IMHO it was composed with the vision of the future, which it does have. I bought this the week it came out. And started a job that paid great but I had to take a train 30 miles and get 5 miles from there to work. Oh, the blues man. I was doing it for my woman. So me and her could make it. "Oh. Oh I need your love." Right before I turned 21. In the Evening and I'm Gonna Crawl, (I was when I finished the week.) were the big ones for me. Odd that the opening and closing tracks would be the best in my opinion. So much feeling there. But it was a messed up time for them. Jimmy on the heroin and Robert after losing his son. Jonesy kept it together for the band. Bonzo was drinking himself to....well. I had tickets to finally see them in Chicago and then, then... Bonzo died. I think they did the right thing by stopping here. A Swan song indeed.

lyrics of this amazing song. Thank you Led Zepplin. Sisters of the way-side bide their time in quiet peace Await their place within the ring of calm Still stand to turn in seconds of release Await the call they know may never come In times of lightness, no intruder dared upon To jeopardize the course, upset the run And all was joy and hands were raised toward the sun As love in the halls of plenty overrun Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh Still in their bliss unchallenged mighty feast Unending dances shadowed on the day Within their walls, their daunting formless keep Preserved their joy and kept their doubts at bay Faceless legions stood in readiness to weep Just turn a coin, bring order to the fray And everything is soon no sooner thought than deed But no one seemed to question in anyway Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh How keen the storied hunter's eye prevails upon the land To seek the unsuspecting and the weak And powerless the fabled sat, too smug to lift a hand Toward the foe that threatened from the deep Who cares to dry the cheeks of those who saddened stand Adrift upon a sea of futile speech? And to fall to fate and make the 'status plan' But no one there had heaven within their reach Singing uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh Oh Where was your word, where did you go? Where was your helping, where was your bow? Bow Bow Dull is the armour, cold is the day Hard was the journey, dark was the way, way I heard the word, I couldn't stay, oh I couldn't stand it another day, another day Another day, another day Touched by the timely coming Roused from the keeper's sleep Release the grip, throw down the key Held now within the knowing Rest now within the peace Take of the fruit, but guard the seed They had to stay Held now within the knowing Rest now within the peace Take off the fruit, but guard the seed Take off the fruit, but guard the seed

Best frontman in the history of popular music, best catalogue, best rhythm section, most exciting live band, etc...BTW I saw both Zep and the Stones in ‘ 69 and ‘72 and both up close.
