Back in the day, when the movie Song Remains the Same came out, smoking was allowed in movie theaters, restaurants, planes, etc. As teenagers we would go the the midnight showing of the movie and bring our "joints" and get high, high, high and lose ourselves in the music with our fellow Zeppelin lovers! The good old days!
@@andydanko7074 Where bouts? It was a joy playing dodge-the-ashes in the back seat of your friend's mother's car, when she searched for her purse with a lit butt? 😏 I also remember cigarette operatives giving me & my friend free packs of smokes to us kids in front of a local store. 🤯 I'm a smoker now.
I agree .. but Listen to Page's solo on Stairway from The Song Remains The Same . Fuckin' Killer .. even Page Himself .. says He "Cringes" every time He hears The Song Remains The Same Soundtrack . Go figure ..
Hear No Quarter versions from Black Dragon with Blue Axe ( 22 mins) & Badgeholder's Only Concerts (31 mins).. Then you will know what 'BEST' literally means..😇✌🏼
The chemistry these four had was incredible like an esp with each other! Love how they improv all their live performances. Jimmy and Bonham were self taught and played by ear(most evident in Dazed & Confused TSRTS). Really love this version of this song -No one will EVER touch these guys! Rock on Led Zeppelin!!🤘🏻
I was there. Live for three hours they brought down "HEAVENS THUNDER"... Rock Gods they will forever be. Thanks for sharing Heros, ... turned it up and luved this journey.
Led Zeppelin is the band that never copied itself. Every song is different and there is no other song that is similar to another. There hasn't been a second song like No Quarter.
Love JImmy’s use of the wah pedal on the main riff. I know Clapton and Hendrix are better known for using the wah, I don’t think anyone has used the wah more cleverly than Page, for texture and tone. Check out The Ocean in the same concert. He turns it on and off to create tonal variety in a single bar. Creative genius on guitar.
One of my all time favorite songs. Definitely my favorite solo and I agree with you abou the riff - it's nasty! Happy 77th to the greatest guitarist ever...
Love your reactions to Led Zeppelin. You brothers are dynpmite. You dig this greatest band in history. I'm 63 saw them at this concert Page is incredible on lead guitar. Drummer JHB is the GOAT....JPJ is like Page. . A WIZARD. ..Robert Plant captivates you from the first sound he makes. LIVE is the best. Try the old old live APRIL 27 1969....FILMORE WEST. PLAY YOU SHOOK ME FROM THAT CONCERT. FIRST TIME PAGE PLAYED HIS LES PAUL SUNBURST GIBSON ..HE BOUGHT IT FROM GUITAR LEGEND ..JOE WALSH.
I love the 4/27/69 Fillmore show! That version of You Shook Me is also my favorite.... I have to turn the volume dial all the way up toward the very end of the song...its fricken explosive! 🔥😎
This is the perfect example why, although the studio version may sound technically better, watching them live is a magical experience!! You have to react to the entire movie, The Song Remains The Same, because it will blow your mind! I know you'll have to do it a little at a time, but you will never be the same!!🎶🎶🎶❤
Jimmy page is the best,...,..Jimi Hendrix is not as good as page straight up. I would even go out on a limb and say David Gilmour is second.Love Hendrix but he is sloppy compared to Page and Gilmour..I know what I hear..Page and Gilmour are the GOATS period.
such a hypnotic riff! and 1 of jimmies best ever solos, it just flows from him with no particular goal or style. it just takes you away from wherever you are like all great music does
I wish somebody at that show would have recorded it. I have both recordings of the Led Zep Glasgow shows from December 3rd and 4th 1972, but I don't think there's ever been an Edinburgh bootlegged show that I know of, unfortunately. You were so lucky to be able to see them at the very height of their powers. That whole tour of England, Scotland, Wales and the rest of Europe....Page, Bonzo and JPJ were on fire during that point in time. The very best period of live Zep, in my opinion.
His searing wah-wah solo right at the end to finish the song off is so good that it dosen't last enough, I wish he'd kept it going for a bit longer, its just stunning.
I suggested this song in your “Since I’ve Been Loving You” reaction. You on the right, remind me of my friend in 1980. I was listening to this album in my front porch and I said something in the middle of Jimmy Pages solo and he said, “Hold on bro, Jimmy’s talking to me” as he played air guitar. One of my favorite Zeppelin songs.
When the levee breaks next. Then Teddy Swims and then Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa " I will take care of you" is a must. Not 60s 70s. But amazing. Too bad you can't do the live, they block those. So much blocking. But I understand. You are so into guitar by Jimmy. But Robert is the key on this band. Chicago is next on my list of top 2....
Led Zeppelin makes me glad to be alive! Awesome awesome band. Music from heaven. I never tire of hearing them. Every song takes you on a journey music and lyrics just perfect.
I luv how u 2 just sit back & let these great song's immerse, surround u , how u 2 let these great song's do their job , hit u & take u on a wonderful journey, I luv how u feel everything that u r hearing ,show the excitement & show the feelings with the expressions on the 2 of u's faces 💯🔥🎵🎼🎶 u 2 r phenomenal & u 2 r badasses, thankx 4 another great & badass reaction yaw 🎶🎼🎵💯🔥
When I was in high school I would come home take a bong hit then play this. It’s my favorite solo. Dazed and confused would be my 2nd whole lot of love then stairway to heaven. All live !
This right here is a masterpiece! Don't understand why other reactors don't do it? We've got this concert on DVD. The Song Remains the Same. My husband and I have watched it a dozen times. This right here sealed it for me. The fact that this will forever be my favourite band of all time! Hey it was Jimmy's 77th birthday on Saturday!
Great job, guys! I think you nailed what makes Zeppelin and Jimmy Page so special. They’re not just songwriters and musicians; they literally aim to open a door into their world and take you on different journeys, song by song. They created an entire fantasy universe, like their rock and roll version of the Lord of the Rings, and immerse their fans in it. Their vision and sweep is closest to classical music of any band that ever existed. Sure, the prog rockers like Yes and King Crimson, and also Deep Purple, were more directly influenced by classical music in style, and they were all fantastic (Black Sabbath too), but they weren’t as accessible and immersive, or as compelling and charismatic as Zeppelin in such a way they could capture the souls of tens of millions of people for decades. Pink Floyd is also a visionary band as well (but I think less exciting, IMHO). Zeppelin music will probably be played and loved by people decades from now.
Just saw your review of Led Zeppelins , since I've been loving you, this takes me back to the 60's , 70's, I always loved Zeppelin, Robert Plant and his sassy, sexy, self, and master of the guitar, handsome Jimmy Page, Robert was said to be the best rock and roll singer of all time, you must review, The Evening, one of my faves,
I’d love to see you guys react to the zeppelin song “in my time of dying.” Make sure you watch the live version if you do, the slide guitar is insane and the performance is up there with “since I’ve been loving you.” Make sure it’s the live performance, “In my time of dying mothership” cheers bros
This song just amazes me. I agree. I LOVE THE RIFF. The whole vibe of the song is mysterious and hypnotic. The middle is like a funky, jazz quartet. It’s so unique. And when Jimmy adds the Theremin for the “dogs of doom are howlin low” OMG, it’s so perfect.
Guys, thank you for this.. I was right there with you, almost in tears, this performance so important to me to me, and to share it with you and see your joy, just amazing...
Right now... I am reacting to your reaction channel. I f****** love watching you two react to something I behave been listened to for a long time. I love the fact that you love is this band as much as I do... Smell my face... Sounds in my ears
to be able to play something like that LIVE !!. keyboard, drums , guitar and a singer, they sound like an philarmonic orchestra , Pure and mystic music connected with the trancendental dimension .... but uncut guitar version exists... magical times during the guitar solo. totally inspired by the light and the shadow of Page Wonderful
Unfortunately, in this video, the solo is cropped, but you can find on RU-vid there is an uncut version, be sure to listen to it / here is link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tFZy4ot2O2g.html I assure you, this version will impress you much more
Loved how you talked about it like a magical journey, I will have to listen to it while having a trip, maybe the whole movie! What a journey this music is.
