This is one of my all time favourite Zeppelin tunes and I’m happy to share my interpretation of this classic with you! In the main riff, I’ve seen many tabs with a 4th fret on A, D, and E parts. That sounds great and was the way I used to play it. But after paying specific attention and watching live performances, I see that Page is bending the 3rd fret up a half step. It’s really quick but I really believe that’s what he’s doing. I decided to stay true to the studio recording as much as I could. Live, Page mashes up both the leads and rhythm in the main riff of this song. With this video, I placed some of the leads in the background so that you can keep playing the main riff. There are tabs on RU-vid that present the live way of playing it and I wanted to give this approach to mix it up. Enjoy and keep coming back for the tabs guys!

Could you do crazy nights by loudness, just a great freakin riff. Also could you do cities on flames with rock n roll, the hole song is great I think you would enjoy all of these songs.

Thanks for making and uploading this. Definitely adding to my lessons playlist. This is one of those songs that you can’t help but let the music get hold of you. It starts in the toes and quickly spreads throughout your body and before you know it you’re a rockin and a rollin with the music.

Heckuva job!! One of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs. Funny, I’ve never attempted to figure out how to play this. You laid it out beautifully with your playing, tabs, and camera work showing what’s going on. I will be watching this video repeatedly, and joyfully.
If you name a song "Rock and Roll" then you better be bringing some of the best rock riffs ever! That's exactly what Page did here if you ask me! It's a high energy bluesy track that to this day is still pretty much the definition of rock and roll guitar music! I love it! Great cover too!

Here’s a little correction, that drum intro starts on the and of 3, and the second snare hit is the down beat. Once you can wrap your head around that it makes a lot more sense.
Excellent! Anything Zeppelin is so hard to beat! This is one of the all time greatest rock and roll songs! (Pun intended!) Jimmy Page is still one of the most creative and influential guitarists, in my opinion! Great lesson! 😊👍👍🎸🎶

@@tsorpniala9820 I mapped it all out with Midi and Humanized it all. I didn't use Modo bass for Heartbreaker. I actually recorded a bass for that one. Most of the videos on this site are with an actual bass. However I've kind of been experimenting a little with Midi bass which has been a little fun.

Not bad for a song that basically came about by accident in the studio. I believe they were trying to record Four Sticks at the time and it wasn’t going well. Bonham launched into that Little Richard style opening and the rest was history. Cheers
