Just an FYI guys, the ground that he used is something you will need to be at an auto parts store. I actually just purchased the 6pc kit and will be installing soon and upload how I do it. 1. I know nothing about cars 2. I will try to be as clear as possible so others can use my video as a guide. 3. They are expected to get to my house on 3/28/17 ! Check my channel for that!

hey, just curious in case i blow up something or something lol. I ordered a led strip without a control panel, just a transformer 12v and an usb plug, if i remove the usb plug and add a circuit extender, can i put it on a fuse which is only active when the key is turned like wiper spray? Since i cant control it and dont want it to be on for ever, just when i turn the key

No it's not! They show people what switched 12v is. That helps people avoiding connecting it to a constant 12v sources because in their multimeter they see 12 V so they connect it to that and then they cant start their car cos they ran out of power. These are the best videos i've ever seen. Everyones elses videos are lacking CRUCIAL bits of info. If it's easy for you then fine, but it helps others.

I want to wire it to work when ever my dome ceiling light turns on ( when my doors unlock from my remote or doors are opened ) but the issue with that is it turns off when doors close or ignition turns on how can i put this thru two circuits where its on with the engine on and turns off when i lock my car????

mrmista101 When you install the interior kit to light up when you open your door, you are grounding the kit to the door pin. When the door is opened, the power circuit to the kit opens, which lights up the kit and when the door is closed, the power circuit to the kit closes as well. Unfortunately you cannot install your kit to 2 separate circuits to control the interior kit that way. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!

You could do this but it would require more electronics knowledge, This would need a relay installed to take input from a few sources and output to one.

I just installed my ledglow today there awesome I love them :). But the only problem I has was with the add circuit I had to get the standard one the bigger one and my fuse box wouldn't close so I had to duck tape lol. But other then that there awesome.

I've hooked up the LEDs, and put the negative wire on a bare metal surface and the positive on an add a circuit fuse (10a) and its still not working, any tips on what to check or do?

The draw on the battery from the kit is extremely minimal when it is turned off. However, if the vehicle is going to sit for an extended period of time without being started, it would be a good idea to disconnect the kit from power completely. If the kit is connected to constant power then no, it will not turn on and off with the car.

So my problem is I’ve connected it to a switched fuse, like my sunroof but even when the key isn’t in the ignition the remote still works. I have to personally turn it on or off for it to work. But my sun roof doesn’t work if the key isn’t on. Why? And yes I’ve doubled checked to makes sure it’s the right circuit.

Do not wire to essential paths ie (airbags, o2 sensor, etc...) some car computers don't let the vehicle start if these fuses are tapped

@@bbuildingmarch7060 yes, there is, if you're disconnecting an airbag the advice is to disconnect the battery for 24-48hrs prior to work... in practice its usually fine, but there is a risk

Can I ground to literally any bare metal bolt? Like does every bolt have a connection with the metal chassis? Sorry, I don't know much about cars lol

MrSneakerSwag You can use any fuse from your fuse panel that does not exceed 15amps. I recommend referring to the fuse panel layout in the owner's manual of your car to see which fuse to use as well as whether it is a switched or constant 12v source. The metal piece we crimped to the black ground wire is called an eyelet connector and that can be purchased at any local auto parts store. If you have any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask!

I just spent hours trying to get these to work on my 2015 Mazda 3. How can I tell if the fuse that came with the set(in the white plastic tubing) is blown? That's the only thing I can think of that I haven't ruled out. I'm really disappointed right now.

If I tap into my interior light circuit fuse will it come and off automatically the same as my interior lights do when I open my door and go off when I close it as my interior lights do? This must be a stupid question. But when you plugged the expandable circuit into the fuse box, why did you have to add a 4 AMP with the 10 AMP? Will it not turn on?

+undahmongoose96792 That's exactly why the 4 amp fuse is put in! That fuse is what supplies power to the kit, without it, the power from the location in the fuse panel would distribute to the kit.

+flowzone1289 Yes, if you're not looking to wire the lights to your battery then you can tap power from the fuse panel using the expandable circuit. Just make sure to check which expandable circuit will be compatible with your vehicle before purchasing! If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask!

+flowzone1289 You will use a Mini Expandable Circuit for your 2006 Dodge Charger SXT, but our expandable circuits only hold up to 4 amps. If your Feniex Cobra 2x Dashlights exceed the 4 amp draw limit then I would recommend looking for a Mini Expandable Circuit that will be able to power your emergency dashlights. By switched we mean an ignition power source. Which would allow the kit to be used only when the vehicle is turned on.

i was wondering, my car has automatic headlights, is there a way i could connect my LED to only turn on at night when the head lights are on, lets say the ambient ligh sensor or something? i mean i dont need them during the day, i just want them on at night basically like the dash board lights only turn on at night get me?

Thank you for the interest in our product! Some of our interior kits allow you to have an auto-on feature, that where as soon as the kit sees power (such as hooking the power wire up to a source that gets 12 volts of power when you turn your lights on) it will automatically turn on. However, only our interior lights offer this function, no underbody kit is capable.

That is also an option. We wire it to constant power so the kit can also be used while the vehicle is turned off.

Great video! In my 2019 Honda Pilot I can see the fuse for the Front ACC Socket. I assume that’s the front 12v “cig lighter”. It’s a 20 amp fuse. Can I tap into that one? It looks like that’s the only switched fuse on the interior fuse panel (but not 100% certain). Thanks!

Kyle Salter Did you purchase your Expandable Circuit from us and not receive the pink 4 amp fuse? The pink 4 amp fuse has to be inserted in one of the open slots of the expandable circuit in order for the lighting kit to function. It will have very little draw on the battery when not being used. We recommend if the car is going to sit for a long period of time, to occasionally start it.

got a 04 ford Taurus ses it has the min fuse .I've have 4 led stripes under the body All so have the in-line fuse but ever time I putting in the fuse hold in the fuse box and turn the switch it blows why

In the video you have the expandable circuit going INTO the existing circular fuse. Is a fuse into a fuse really necessary? or can I cut out the inline fuse and just have the one 5a fuse for the add-a-circuit?

The expandable circuit cannot keep the kit powered if you turned it off so you most likely have a short somewhere. Double check all of your wiring.

RJ Ellis Have you tried powering the kit when the car is on? You might be connected to a switched power source and the kit will only work when the car is on. Also, make sure that the black ground wire is properly connected to a bare metal surface. The kit will not power on unless the black ground wire is touching metal. You can wrap some of the bare wire around any screw that threads into any metal piece or the frame of your car and you should be good to go. If those two things seem right and you're still having issues powering the kit, give our Technical Support a call at 877.LED.GLOW and we'll help figure out the issue!

You will need to locate a fuse that receives 12v power only when the ignition is turned on. You can locate one by using a test light while turning your key on and off in the ignition.

I connected it to the fused box and used fuel pump. So it would just turn on when the engine is on. However, the on/off switch isn't working but the color mode and everything else is working. So basically I cant turn it off whenever I want. Need help.

Help, I wired mine to the Cigarette Lighter fuse which is rated at 15A. Will this cause the fuse to blow up when I'm using the cigarette lighter to charge my phone?? I haven't tried to use the cigarette port yet.

The black wire is coming from the kit. The red wire is power and the black wire is ground.

so if i want it to be switched power i have to use the ignition fuse or the window fuse?

You will have to use a power source that only shows power with the key turned on.

okay I understand everything until I have to attach a wire to a metal ?? I can't just put the wire into just a fuse panel and that's it ?

The black wire that needs to be connected to a bare metal source is the ground wire. The kit will not work unless this is connected to a metal source.

Hey any suggestions would be awesome. I have my lights plugged into the seat heater slot (I also tried every other slot), and when I turn off the car, the seat heater goes off. But the lights stay on. I can operate the lights at any time regardless of where the key is and regardless of which fuse slot I'm using. I've also tried putting the fuse in both directions to see if that was it but the lights stayed on. I can't figure out what's going on here. Any thoughts?

You'll need to place the fuse into a location that only receives power when the ignition is turned on. We suggest using a test light or voltmeter to locate the correct fuse. If you connect the kit to a constant 12v source the kit can still be turned off using the power button, however, it will still have power running to it. LEDGlow hey thanks for the reply. I've tried every fuse slot in my panel. For example, the seat heater fuse. If I turn the car on and turn the heater on the light for the heat seater is on and then I turn my LEDs on and they come on. Okay everything is working. Then I turn off the car. The seat heater turns off of course but the lights stay on. The LEDs stay on and they don't turn off. I've tried that same process with just about every fuse in the Box and everytime I get the same results where the light continues to work regardless of which fuse slot it is in and regardless of whether or not the car is turned on or if the key is even in the ignition. So all the accessories that turn off when the car turns off are turning off except the light. I can't figure that out

Twist the power wires for both kits together and place them into one expandable circuit.

my expendable circuit didnt come with the pink fuse with the "4" on it. can i put a different fuse in its place?

If I connect it to a 20A cigarette adapter will that work for the expandable circuit or will it be drawing too much juice ?

Unfortunately, a 20A fuse would be too much for the kit to handle. We recommend using a 5-10A fuse, or if needed, you can stretch it to a 15A.

Can someone better explain this to me. I'd want to connect to a switched source to ensure my battery wouldn't die while I'm aware from my car right? And to do so I would put the fuse adapter where the radio fuse would be for example? Thanks in advance.

If you want to obtain a switched 12 volt power source, you can use the radio fuse as the power source.

We do not recommend using more than a 5amp fuse for the circuit and we recommend connecting to a 10amp fuse from the control box.

This is missing a lot of stuff. Where do I splice the wires so I can connect the expandable circuit? Where do I buy the ground terminal at 1:40?

You do not need to splice any wires. The red power wire that the expandable circuits gets connected to is the red wire from your LED light kit's control box. Depending on your kit, the ring terminal for the ground connection may be included. Otherwise, they can be purchased as any local automotive store.

I've managed to get power flowing to the footwell LED strips but they just flicker and aren't responsive to the remote control. I've tried rewiring the positive and negative to make sure I didn't have a crappy connection but still getting the same problem. Anyone got any ideas?

What if I want to add more then one LED strip to the wire tap? Could I splice all of positives to one wire and connect it to the add a fuse? Also, could I use add a fuse on more then one fuse or is that not a good idea?

iAaronHD How many light kits are you looking to power from one expandable circuit? The fuse is rated for 3amps, so you will need to confirm that the kits combined are less than 3amps and you should be able to use the one expandable circuit. If the kits exceed 3amps, then you will have to use multiple expandable circuits. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns!
