You do need a hub for automation, not sure if Google nest hub will work. Would suggest if you do buy, make sure you can return it. These things are mostly trial and error, good luck, let us know how you get on, suspect a few people out there will be interested to know too!
@@howardl2756 I have a few, I resell so thought of keeping some stock for myself. I can tell you can just control via the app, there is some rubbish info out there and instructions are not great.
I used a hardware switch, so it’s a “dumb setup”. I read online it’s possible to hook up to smart hub, or a new generation Alexa should be able to talk to the outdoor plug directly. But I don’t have either of those things at home to fully confirm these things.
