He sure had an TEAC 80-8 8-Track recorder, visible at 3:44 in this video at the right, laying nearly flat.

The crying baby in that one song!!! My co worker and I cackle every time! This is an awesome channel! I did not know about Lee Perry until this video! It is awesome to finally know who made that song that I hear frequently over the weekend!

Loved the kick drum on your track at the end there. Just enough attack but keeps all the low end-- what mic / size kick was it?

Cheers Daniel! It’s the AKG D12. That’s the reason I prefer the D12 to the D112. The D112 can be a bit too clicky. Great if you need that attack but most of the time, I prefer it to be a bit more subtle. The kick was a 22 inch.
