Unless they own a business or employed there. Which is allowed. Resident are not going to clean up a land that's not their property. Not all business owners live in the same county they work. It's not the Northeast. Some people live in Sebastian and work in Melbourne or Cocoa. Some in Palm Bay and work in The Mall in Melbourne or Merritt island. It's just that. Which is why there are cars and busses. I guess ft Myers had their bus stops on the outer streets or so. So it somewhat doesn't apply.
A friend went over with his truck and boat and met up with group doing same and brought donated provisions and assisting with rescues. Shared to me many went to sea.
They are a dime a dozen in Florida. Most of my friends, neighbors and coworkers that I met while living in So. Flo. were from Long Island or Northern Jersey.
Thank you Sheriff for making it crystal clear that Florida is a law and order state and that people have the right to defend their property from looters.
Hopefully they are in a hotel motel when evacuated so many without anything prayers for Lee county sheriff's department And anyone affected by hurricane

Sad you didn't let people back to fix their things 4 days after the storm. everyone else was able to return by 4 days. yet looters were ther in 24hrs of the storm, shameful.
You were allowed to go back for 2 days after their were bodies visible from the road no one should’ve been allowed after seeing that it was a good thing
@@BillyBob-im7og I am sorry you had to see that. I was being a bit emotional Over that. I'm in Brevard County in Melbourne it was just we started a little clean up here a day or two after. Not the next day unless their were repairs. We still have knocked down tree limbs but no worries it will be a clean up for later .it's only immediate if it's a problem with Power lines. Some neighbors had to call lawn companies to trim tree that were issues.others did it themselves. Power was back on in 3 days. Merritt island didn't lose power but some of Melbourne did. There's only large cleaning up in Cocoa but there's some that volunteered to go to cocoa to help with cleaning and things. My heart goes out to those who lost their lives and those for loss of livelihoods but it's just I was Angry about the damn looting thing. Within a 24 hrs then they are coming from other parts of the state? Its sad and disgusting. I makes us feel we have to do the same here in case. Then they said 17 from 4 in a week we're arrested. Just why are there looting? Stealing people personal stuff and even business so they can resell out of their damn garage or take it to the pawn shops. I'm glad I wear most of mine while I'm in my home. I don't when I'm out. Again my heart goes out to the ones who are in total loss.
Wasn’t a fan of this sheriff before the storm but the SOB has really impressed me. I can’t say I’m happy that nobody from law enforcement has been to help with the looting in my neighborhood but that is actually the City Of Cape Coral’s fault!
