That first part of Lee’s standup was referring to a commercial that was on our televisions about 10-15 years ago. The commercial is called “THINK! Don’t drink and drive”.

In your own time. Lee Evans has a film called Funny Bones. Both Oliver Reed and Jerry Lewis appear in the film and I believe it was the last film roles both actors played. The pair are trying to work out which one of them is Lee Evans' father. Old school comedy set in Blackpool, England. Still hoping you find Harry Enfield. Cheers for the video clips.

Yes technically they used the phrase wrong, but in their defence a teacher caring even a little bit is still a good thing

Yeah, and logically it's flawed too, if you could care even less then it's not that bad then huh! lol But sadly some of these mis-spoken phrases are 50-50 with original phrases. 'Off my own bat' with origins in Cricket, but became long ago 'Off my own back' or the great Tenterhooks Vs Tender Hooks. Regardless though, as long as we get what's meant, they whole thing is nipped it in the butt! (lol)

in UK, when groom-to-be goes for a last pre-wedding boozy night out with his male friends , we call it a'stag do' - when bride-to-be goes for a last pre-wedding boozy night out with her female friends we call it a 'hen night'

'Stag night' came about in the fifth century, in Sparta, where military comrades would feast and toast one another on the eve of a friend's wedding. Hen night also has a rich history. In the 1620s, the word 'hen' was first used as slang for women, and in the 1800s a publication first referred to a 'hen party' to indicate a gathering of females. I don't drink either, I have but it never really did anything for me except waste my money, and now I have liver cirrhosis that wasn't caused by alcohol and it will get worse if I do drink, I dunno win win I guess.

I do not drink alcohol, just do not like how they taste. Beer being the worst, as it has a similar taste to pond water, when I've been cleaning out the fish pond and accidentally gotten some in my mouth ! Also had vertigo a few years ago, and said to my husband "if this is what being drunk is like, why do it on purpose"

" COULD CARE LESS " !? Oh dear. And that coming from a teacher. Such bad grammar. He did a great routine where he plays an invisible drum kit, piano and bass. In the UK we have STAG nights and HEN nights. You guys go too deeply into stuff. It'd just comedy. Enjoy it. Don't try and dissect it.

I remember those stupid binge drinking commercials that kept airing round the U.K. in the early to mid 2000s. All they did was encourage more drinking 😂 I remember the one where it's like 3 teenage girls having a normal night drinking & then as the night goes on it gets more intense & they try to make it look as scary as they can showing the 2 girls helping the 3rd girl vomiting into a toilet & then having another girl pass out in the street & they're all like "oh nooo, this is so bad! What have we done!?" Teenagers & young adults would look at that & be all like "that looks fun!" Like, is that supposed to scare us? All they did was just show a cracking night out 😂 there were also binge drinking programs on TV as well which tried so hard to bring shame on the stereotypical English heavy drinkers at pubs & that. Nowadays we just get the "Please drink responsibly" crap everytime they advertise an alcoholic drink somewhere. I've seen the same in the States as well. They show a fun looking commercial of people having a good time & then end with that slogan. Like, you need to get absolutely smashed on Vodka or whatever it is in order to have a purpose to drink it most the time haha.
