I don't really think it was that way. The scene was out of context. In that episode, Lee yeon threw himself to the samdo River and everyone lost him, especially his brother. Yu ri gave shinju a hug after he started crying because Lee yeon wasn't there in such an important moment for him ( when he propesed to yu ri). For me that glare looked much like a sight of regret that he couldn't save his brother and he really misses him. (letter is told that Lee Rang suffered a lot after he lost his brother, but never stopped to search for him). My point is, in that scene, after rang sees shin ju's breakdown, he remembers that he still hasn't solved the problem and he still couldn't bring back his brother. ( if you remember ji ah's expressions were the same: she regretted Lee yeon left like that). For me, Lee Rang haven't necessarily saw yu ri as a love interest, but more as a family member, a person who's not going to abandon him like the others. Yu ri was a zone of confort for him. Someone with who he didn't have to protect himself from. That's why imoogi chose yu ri to hurt Lee Rang. It was the easiest way because in her presence , he was himself and his walls were down. If I recall well, after the first meeting with shin ju, yu ri told Lee Rang that she found the vet more attractive than she thought. The expression that rang delivered made me think it wasn't jealousy , but fear, fear of being abandoned again after he gave his heart. Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to see them romantically involved with each other, but their relationship was more of a comfort, care, safety and sharing the similar scars type of relationship.

@@petrutacovaci6130 aptly explained! Not every love is romantic. Rang and Yuri did love each other but in a different way. The way Yuri could sacrifice for Rang ofcourse she loved him. He was her family. Shin joo was her love but rang was something more than that. The things I say to convince myself as I know Rang deserved his happiness too but unfortunately 😭😭😭

@@Senoritaanna97 exactly, love comes in all formes. Lee Rang and yu ri had that type of connection and relationship that didn't identify them as lovers but, I would say as soulmates. They cared for each other so much and were ready to sacrifice themselves for the happiness of the other. There are different types of loving someone and this was thir outcome. As for what you said about Lee Rang not having his happy end, I like to see it from another perspective: he got the change to get a new start, without childhood trauma, without that fact that he was a supernatural creature, he got the chance to live a normal and happy life, this time with a carrying mom by his side. Yes, he might have forget yu ri and his beloved brother, but he had enough on his plate. He sacrificed himself at the end, but he gained a new life. This time, I see that the ones who are "abandoned" were yu ri and the others. They had to lose him. But in the end, they needed to move on and live their lives. Maybe this is the writer's way to tell us that life/ destiny will pay us back for what we gave.

They have a great chemistry, they should give them a big break. Wahhh😍😍
