A tribute to the beautiful, talented and very underrated actress Lee Remick. A Broadway sensation, nominated for a Tony Award in "Wait Until Dark", and acting and singing in Stephen Sondheim's "Anyone can Whistle", she also gave unforgettable movie performances: as Laura in Otto Preminger's "Anatomy of a Murder", Eula in "The Long, Hot Summer", the twirling teenage girl of "A Face in the Crowd", heartbreaking and Oscar-nominated Kirsten in "Days of Wine and Roses", with riveting Jack Lemmon... She died much too soon but is not likely to be forgotten. The song is "Killing me softly with his song", the Lori Lieberman rendtion.

We're the same age Chuck, and I've known of her all my life, and loved her. How you have been unaware I can only attribute to some special circumstance that I know not of. But what a treat to discover such a wonderful person. Never too late.

Lee Remick..What a beautiful lady. She comes from Quincy, Massachusetts (I live the next town over). Many years ago Quincy had a shopping center. (before the malls). Her father owned a department store there called Remicks of Quincy, a lovely store. I never saw her but I was told that on occasions Lee would greet people and sign autographs there. She gave wonderful performances in the movies. Her movies were high quality (check them out.). So proud she was from our area.

Lee Remick ,in The Days of Wine and Roses, was one of the best movies put out by Hollywood at the time. 1962. It was ahead of it's time. I will always remember Lee in her role. Totally riveting. Jack Lemmon was excellent also. I will never forget that movie. The scene at the end with Jack Lemmon was a classic ,which I will never forget.

pete stanton I feel "The Days of Wine and Roses" is simply the best movie about the scourge of alcoholism that Hollywood has ever made, period. It dealt with co-dependency before that term even existed. Lee Remick's character, Kirsten, was shown to have a predisposition towards alcoholism before experts on the matter knew that could actually be true. Alcoholism was, also, shown to be a disease, not just a character flaw or a lack of willpower. In 1962, this was almost radical thinking and, yet, over a half-century later we now know these ideas to be almost certainly correct. Ahead of its time, this groundbreaking film was a generation ahead of its time. An absolutely brilliant piece of cinema.

For me, Lee is one of the most beautiful women ever. I also love Jean Simmonds, Grace Kelly, Natalie Wood, Pier Angeli and Deborah Kerr. Another is Muriel Pavlow who looks very similar to Lee. All these women had class and beauty, which has gone today. akpool de/ansichtskarten/24270174-ansichtskarte-postkarte-schauspielerin-muriel-pavlow-hilfe-der-doktor-kommt
