We take a POV ride on 2x O&K Escalators at the Next store (clothes and homeware) in the White Rose Shopping Centre which is in Morley - a suburb of Leeds. These are the store’s rear escalators and are fully original... Actually Next did good thing here - this was the ex-BHS unit and these escalators were in a crisscross arrangement in the centre of the store. When Next moved in they reconfigured the unit to their liking and installed generic escalators (Tecno) at the front. But rather than replace these escalators, they moved them to the back of the store and kept them. Much better than some great escalators like these just being lost!

**These are the type RTV-TLE/ TE and made in 1996 at the Hattingen, Germany 🇩🇪 factory. In 1996, it was common for the German factory to supply escalators to the UK since the Keighley factory was at full capacity building over 100 custom built heavy duty escalators for the London Underground Jubilee Line Extension. There are 5x more of these style still in operation here (4x are the more compact RTV-TE style in the middle of the mall) - the other 1 is in New Look. In the ex M&S store there were 2 but the store is vacant as M&S changed units. Hopefully they’ll be used again if it’s re - leased.
