Was at this game with my dad I was 15 great result when we came out the Leeds fans kicked off & and the old bill had to stop a public bus & clear the bus of people & put around 40 of us spurs fans on it & take us to the station without stopping, they were also throwing bricks at the bus too… good times 😊
Was in the family stand right behind the goal where spurs bagged their two goals. They had the away standing pen and the seats at the top of the south stand. Made a right racket. Loudest I’d heard at the time.
Loved them days. Went with City To White Hart Lane first game of the 1990/91 Season. Lost 3-1 but City fans give a good reception to Gazza and Linekar for their Heroics for country in Italia 90. But i just dont enjoy the matchday going experience like i once did growing up on the kippax at Maine Road in the 80s,90s even the early 00s.
We were right on the halfway line in the lowfields. If you look just after Linekar’s goal when walking back to kick off a lad climbs over the fence and quickly gets ragged back by stewards. He got banned for life.
It has to be said from a footballing perspective the standard of the English league late eighties To the early nineties was dreadful. The ball was in air all the time. Liverpool were the only team who could String a few passes together and because they could. They won the league. Also it didn't suit a flair like gazza which went missing a lot for Tottenham. I watched his lazio games online and most things went through. He use to run games for lazio when he played I put the blame on veneables. I don't think he was a good manager when he by passed his midfield When he had the best ball player in the league in gazza. If spurs played a more passing game with gazza. They might have actually won the league.
