Leeuwin Current - A Collaborative Poetic Film with Ceramicist Warrick Palmateer 

Leeuwin Current is a poetic film crafted for world-renowned ceramicist Warrick Palmateer. The film was displayed alongside his latest exhibition “Leeuwin Current” at the Rockingham Arts Gallery held by the Indian Ocean Arts Triennial. The 13 minute film encompasses the inspiration to Warrick’s work, featuring shots relating to the perspective of a surfer along the Leeuwin coast. The viewer is taken on a journey through the “current” as the film explores below and above the forever changing moods of the Indian Ocean. These patterns, colours, shapes and movements combined are the embodiment of Warrick’s work as a potter, who grew up living, exploring, and sharing the Leeuwin coast.
