i feel like m2k has been totally rampaging this summit and leff did really well to keep up with him, no matter who won that was one of the most entertaining sets i've seen in a long time, well played to both players!
Jason is my favorite. M2K is probably the most versatile smasher I've read or watched, spanning all the competitive scenes (except regular N64 Smash scenes I believe), M2K does it all and he kicked ASS at the Melee Summit this year! Congrats to M2K on this years win and everything I have learned about Smash, I learned from watching M2K and players like him. Smash on, Bros. Smash on.
Wow that game 2 ending. M2k is really amazing at truly covering the ledge, knowing when to cover the ledge and how to make his opponent think he can/should go to the ledge
Why didn't Leffen do his usual shine back air at 22:14 to cover 3/4 of the options? Did he read that Mew2King was going to dip low and then proceed to refresh invincibility? And even then, wouldn't shine to grab ledge still have enough time to cover those two options? Definitely a flub on Leffen's part.
@@thealphamudkip3807 No, it's a phantom. The only way dtilt does only 5% is if it's all the way stale, which is wasn't. Marth doesn't flinch (no knockback), but he does have freeze frames. Classic phantom hit.
Samuel vi Britannia i know. You can tell leffen knows what he needs to do he just makes mistakes and tends to choke in high stakes games like this. Im sure he has the skill to win a tournament like this but he seems to be battling himself half the time.
Not that M2K isn't fucking amazing at this matchup, but the way Leffen was playing this tournament I'm starting to wonder if he's got a point about this matchup. I know other top players disagree with him on it, but this matchup definitely looks irritating for Fox.
I'd still say 50-50. You're just seeing M2K and his expert knowledge in the match-up. It doesn't come to any surprise either. Everyone and their moms play Fox, therefore you get a ton of match-up experience. You don't see great Marths too often. I love Leffen but I'm not on board with his 60-40 claim. I'd also like to point out that with Leffen V.S M2K, it'll always be a 50-50 outcome as long as both players are doing well. Any other Marth not in the top 10/15 Leffen wipes the floor with. He makes Fox look 60/40 in that case lol. So it was definitely M2Ks Marth being in a different tier of Marth.
i like m2k but i feel like he cheesed that a bit, leffen was outplaying him for most of each game but he just randomly went to the edge or off stage and he only capitalized on that, i guess a win is a win though
@ "i have alot to learn" oh really huh, do the best players on earth have alot to learn to, since most support having a ledge grab limit. also why dont you win a local before you start preaching to anyone lol
F A no dipass but I’m not the one acting like I can teach people what is or isn’t “scrub mentality” as if I’m a fucking expert, saw that coming btw, I know how you people work
